Being nerdy and attractive is kind of what I'm known for.

I happen to think that many nerdy guys are very attractive.

Of course...because physical attraction isn't something that has a set definition. Everyone has a different opinion of what they consider attractive. I'm a female, and I am most attracted to geeky guys :) I have always been considered somewhat of a geek as well, but I don't look like one. (For example, I have better than 20/20 vision so I obviously don't wear glasses, and I have been into weight lifting, yoga, and aerobics for some time so I am actually quite muscular and was never bullied)

According to my husband, yes. (He describes me as a 'geek trophy wife' because my geek level far exceeds his, making him the envy of his fellows. Especially what with the Green Lantern wedding bands.)

I know I'm not conventionally attractive, but then most of the people I know don't really care about that.

This is a long shot, but your husband's name isn't Doug, is it? I figure there can't be that many people out there with Green Lantern wedding bands.

I met a geeky attractive girl. I was pretty amazed that she knew about even a small fraction of the stuff I talked about. *sigh* I just couldn't get past the friend barrier.

That's an attraction in itself.

Agree! Nerds are darn sexy...if you ask me...both men and women.

There must be more of us than you realised, then - he's a Chris, not a Doug.
I'll have to start looking at people's left hands at conventions now.

Well, this sort of applies for both men and women, but I wanted to know, because it seems like people think of those two characteristics as antagonic, so...

duh...

All the guys I have dated except possibly one or two, have been NT....I think generally men find intelligent (nerdy or geeky) women attractive initially. Whether or not they have the ego or mental stamina to deal with that on an ongoing basis is another thing!

I agree certainly.

Random male poking head in:

I can't imagine even dealing with,
much less being attracted to something
like that. I'm pretty darn picky about
appearance, but assuming that they
approach me, just about the first
thing I do is make some kind of
comment as a test - if they're
that kind of fluff, they usually
find it offensive, or just so
confusing that they can't
handle it.

I see that most of the men here responded that they like nerdy girls. I expected that answer because most of the guys here are aspie and many of them are nerdy themselves. However, if you were to ask NT guys, particularly NT alpha guys, if they thought nerdy girls are attractive, you would probably get an altogether different answer.

My husband is totally NT and a former jock besides, so totally not your typical nerd fan. He thinks it's hot that I'm smart and nerdy (he does get frustrated at my lack of "common sense" at times, though).

There's something impressive about an elegantly tall woman who talks like a nerd. Truthfully, there is!
