I have trouble connecting with NT women, as I have little to no interest in stereotypically "feminine" pursuits. I do wear makeup, but I hate shopping, I hate most romantic movies, I hate doing my nails (I keep them clipped short), I hate gossip, and I couldn't care less about who celebrity X is dating.

Oh well, I guess. :)

I like to read and I don't wear makeup or shoes... so, I tend to do fairly well with non-mainstream women who also like to read and don't care about social norms. If I can talk to someone about books or a (hopefully) shared interest then I think it usually goes well.

Its been a long time since I posted this discussion and still I do not really get along with women. I'm just learning to ignore it. Sort of.
Now, some girls I know are making disparaging comments about my clothing, namely underwear. They are trying unsucessfully to make me buy 'sexy' lingerie type stuff with money I would much rather spend on books. Why would I want to wear uncomfortable, scratchy articles of undergarments? Perhaps if I get a significant other that might change, but basic black cotton is good enough for me. Lace, though gorgeous, itches.
I keep trying to tell them to just drop the issue, but they won't. Is this important? Or should I just trundle along as usual?

Only if it is important to you, and by the sounds of it, it isn't. Go get those books. :D

I've given this subject much thought, and have come to the conclusion that I get along less with the extremes of either gender. I feel neutral in many ways, and my experience tells me that I've been drawn (both friendship and relationship wise) towards and accepted by those who were most likely neutral themselves.

I can talk to NT women one on one, but put me in a group of NT women, and I am an alien, or they are to me.

I have been unable to relate to most women I have met and prefer the platonic company of men as i tend to get on better with them. Women in general don't understand me and vice versa, and of all the people who have been nasty to me throughout my life vast majority are female. I have generally found men to be more straight forward and generally nicer. I am not very feminine, only time i wore heels was when i got married, no interest in the latest fashion, celebs etc. Glad I'm not alone :)
