I'd pull my hair out and eat it. Bald as a little eagle, much to my parents' despair. I don't do that anymore, though I do run my fingers through it or pick at my scalp.
I also tend to run my fingers along my skin constantly and pick at any spots on my arms/chest/face. And constantly jiggle or tap my foot/arm/hips/whatever.
Never really thought of them as stims though, but I guess they are!!
Yep, Hair chewer here. Chew, chew, chew. Chew, chew, chew.
Then I cut my hair, started chewing straws all the time. especially those little stirring straws that you get with coffee. chew, chew chew. Then I gave up coffee and started chewing gum all the time. My latest dentist asked me if I grind my teeth at night and I said I didn't think so but I chew stuff ALL the time. And he figures that's why my teeth are so worn down. Hair is probably not as hard on the teeth...
I'm also a scratcher/picker on arms/chest/face and a fidgeter and I wear my hair long so I run my fingers thru it a lot. It's called "finger-combing" and hopefully it's a little more socially acceptable though I get self-conscious about it sometimes, especially when I'm dropping lots of hair on the library floor or something.
Hello there fellow chewers!
