Hey, as you all know I am a sexy blond and we do have more fun.. eating healthy foods, reducing risky behaviors, being in healthy relationships and living a healthy lifestyle. So I thought, maybe we could all pitch in and write a list of womens' health things. Like what women do to live healthy and happy!

Here is my 2 cents: eat enough Folate in your diet. It leads to healthy babies. When cereals were fortified with Folate in the USA, the number of nueral tube defects in newborns was dramatically reduced. So you need to have enough folate in your diet. You can enough folate by eating Papaya and nose buggers and by eating fortified whole grain cereals or taking a daily multivitamin. You only need enough, and eating more than the recommended daily dose of folate will not do anything.

Make sure you get enough Omega 3 in your diet!

Always get yourself checked for cervical and breast cancer...no matter what. I just found out yesterday that my cousin who's only 21 has breast cancer!

Remember, birth control pills are a good way to protect you from having kids but they don't protect you against HIV, STD, and other viruses. So use a condom...

Remember it's ok to say NO once in a while ladies.... :shameonyou:

Keep yourself active...it will help lower the sensativities of PMS amongst other things available out there.

Always keep a cat or dog around the house....if you're an aspie... :P

If you plan on having kids; use the Bradley method of natural childbirth. It has over a 90% rate of unmedicated births and a very low c-sec rate. The infant mortality rate is also much lower. I have used it four times and it works great.
Later in life for peri-menopause symptoms, such as hot flashes, use wild yam. It really helps.

Or...don't feel like you need to be a hero. If you want pain relief, go for the drugs, it's OK. I've done both natural and medicated chilbirth. I think natural is overrated. Also, take care of the caretaker. This is something I am working on my own self right now :) .

Jump on the trampoline.
Wash you face with coffee grounds to reduce wrinkles
If you drink Apple Cider Vinegar water, add a pinch of baking soda and drink it with a straw
Always use non-plastic water bottles...or avoid drinking out of plastic containers as much as possible.
Ummm....

Dry skin brush before your showers.

I am really bummed out lately because I am a left-handed female, and all there is on the internet is bad news about how we are more vulnerable to all kinds of diseases and whatnot. I also have a sort of apple shape..which ups my risk...It makes me come to terms with the fact that I need to get used to the idea that I am simply gonna have a shorter life span and whatnot...I was reading some dumb fitness magazine that said that not having children will up your risk for breast cancer...and I can't have children...nor should I ...really...I am not sure why I am bringing this up here...I wonder whether I should even bother taking care of my health or should I just quietly accept that I am doomed...Sorry for talking this way...I get a little dismal around the approachings of my birthdays...I am about to turn 34.... :( ....43 in right-handed-years....I guess....

I wish there were some sort of left-handed womens' natural health resource...

I am apple shaped too. Did you know that taking selenium is supposed to reduce your risk of breast cancer?

My grandmother had a mirror twin who was lefthanded and couldn't have childern. My grandmother died at 72 her twin died at 95. They were both apple shaped and ate the same diet and lived very close to each other their whole lifes. I think the health mags like to take one small study and spin it out over and over to fill the pages of their rags.

They have to test to see if you have it before you get the shot because it's so common, but if you don't already have it not a bad idea to get the shot.

See an OBGYN every year... this is what I'm told but I haven't been in four years. :/
