I'm advertising this a little bit around the net.

I just wanted to give a shout out here about the Asperger Women Association, a fairly new group with chapters all over the world. It feels a little bit like spamming, since I've just accepted the position of their Forum Moderator, and I believe Contributing Writer and Board Member.

But yes, the AWA's website is currently under construction, but their mission statement is:

"It is the objective of the association: to promote a positive image of women with Asperger's and Autism (A&A); to educate the public on the issues unique to women with A&A and their families; to offer parenting and family advice and support from A&A Women; to create a networking opportunity for A&A women; to promote the writings, art, music and other works of A&A Women; and to provide a forum for A&A Children, and children with A&A parents. The Association will achieve these objectives with an on line web site magazine, which accumulates writings, interviews, and images by and about women with A&A, and a networking environment for sharing, with links to individual A&A women. "

And may I note that while it does say "Women", that we have men members too like John Elder Robinson, who is a fairly regular guest on the radio show.

Anyways, just wanted to post this up.

If any of the mods think that this should be somewhere else, I understand.

Sounds great and will have to take a look into it.

I must warn you though, most women have a much higher tendency than men not to get along.

Thanks all, I just got the moderator controls, so I'm just learning the ropes over there. So the layout and boards may change very soon. Actually, I'm planning on changing them to include special interests and life skills.
