I've gained about 10-20 pounds in the past year or so, and mixed with a growth spurt (I believe), my chest size has gone up from 36 C to 38 D (and 40 D fits fine). I had so many different bras, about 40 of them, and now they don't fit! I got three bras now.
Another thing that's frustrated about the new bras are that the straps don't fit. (and two of my new bras don't have adjustible straps) My shoulders are really slender, even with the weight gain, so the 36 C even has to be really tight.
And I can't find any pretty semi-cheap D bras out there :(
Can you relate?

I have found Ross to be a good source of underwear things. I don't know if you have any in Canada, but if you do, try them.I haven't worn bras for decades because they all seem to be a medieval torture device, but I actually bought one there for $9.99 last weekend, for the rare occasion where I might need one. They seem to have a good selection. I get $12.00 Delta Burke panties for $2.99 there.

Victoria's secret has a half off sale in January every year. That's the only time I shop there, because they're too expensive and also made in sweat shops... but they probably are, no matter where you buy them...and there's always Walmart....

Have you ever been properly measured to determine your "correct" bra size? Most women, young and old, are wearing bras that
do not correctly fit...they think they can just walk into a store and try on many bras until one seems to fit and assume that is their size.

Before you buy any "new" bras...stop into a specialty shop that specifically sells lingerie and ask them to measure you
to determine your "correct" size. Most Department stores have gotten away with doing this any longer and only specialty stores that cater to the needs of women continue to do it. It only takes a few minutes...and in the long run, you will feel alot better when properly fitted for undergarments.

I am not comfortable with the idea of a stranger measuring my bra size, especially since I have some scarring around there.
I think my bra fits right though, I know what a well fitting bra looks like and that's why I knew that I wasn't a 36 C anymore.

I was measured at Victoria's Secret once, and while it was awkward, I think it was worth it. The person measuring doesn't have to see you naked... you might try it. They've seen it all, I'm sure.....

They don't have Victoria's Secrets in Canada unfortunately, at least not where I live. I might consider getting my bra size checked later, but I don't have much free time though.

Victoria's Secrets doesn't carry the bigger sizes anymore unless they changed this I haven't been in one in years because of this. The moved all there bigger bras to a plus sized shop this pissed me off big time I'm not going in to a plusshop unless or until thats the best place to find all the clothing I need. I've found that when koles is having a sale they have a great line of bigger sozes and good prices. I like the Bali bras they are well made and make my DD look good and not like a pointy chested old church lady.

Cup sized is mesured by taking your band size and adding a letter for every inch the doubles are at the 1/2 inch mark. http://www.herroom.com/bra-fitting-advice,901,30.html just found this link I hope it helps. :) no need to have some stranger touch your yayas

Having a large cup size can be extremely frustrating, especially when the size keeps changing. When I was eleven years old my mom took me bra shopping for a training bra...none of them fit...I was a 32C in a real bra. When I finished growing I ended up a 32D, and stayed that size for a long time. A 32D bra is a hard size to find, but I managed....we had a Fredrick's of Hollywood at the local mall and they carried bras in my size that were pretty inexpensive. Then, thanks to Rispidal my boobs grew another two cup sizes...by the time I came off it I was a 32DDD....despite only gaining 5lbs.

Every time I lose or gain a little bit of weight my cup size changes. I eventually lost some of the Rispidal boobs, but not completely. A slight change in body composition (fat vs. muscle) can make a big difference in my breasts. So for that reason I constantly need new bras.

I used to get my bra size checked if I notice by bras are not fitting right after a while, but now I pretty much know how to adjust my size depending on how poorly my bra is fitting, and I only change the cup size, never the band size. I would probably need to gain 25-30lbs to go up to a 34 band, but a tiny increase in body fat (and loss of muscle) that a scale can't even measure can cause me to go up a cup size.

The band of the bra is where most of the support comes from. So it's really important that the band fits right. The straps shouldn't fit tightly, just stay up and not fall off your shoulder...the band of the bra is where the suppost comes from (hence why a strapless bra is possible). Although straps should be adjustable so they don't fall down.

For finding inexpensive D+ cup sizes you could try to wait until a department store has a sale, or try an off-priced retailer like TJ Maxx (I think it's called Winners in Canada). I've found some bras at stores like that, even in my freaky sizes. But sometimes I'm willing to spend more to avoid the mess and aggervation. Also there is always Walmart...but there are sort of limited in the sizes they carry...I'd love to be a 34C so I could shop there....
