My niece who is 12 is staying with me while my sister has a back operation. She got her period for the first time. When I was out buying her some pads, I passed by the baby products isle and actually wept when I looked at the diapers. I remember buying her diapers as if it were yesterday and her babysoft hair and sweet smell. I can't believe how quickly time passes.

I have a niece who I think is around 15 or 16. I remember when she was just a little toddler. They grow so quickly. I even feel the way about my younger niece who is three.
I've also been that way about a boy I used to be friends with when I was 11. He would have been 9 or 10. I saw him in a pub and I asked him if he was 18. He said he was 21.
