Okay, so I just blow-dried my hair and it looks the exact same as when I don't. I also probably burnt my right ear(Does that mean my ear piercings will close? My mom told me it wouldn't so I'm safe). Ever teacher in my alternative ed class gives girls with thin hair "Pretty hair comments" and instead I get "fluffy hair comments". I'm always trying to make myself more attractive. I wear diffrent clothes everday, diffrent makeup everday, diffrent nail polish, hairstyles and everything. But none of it works! People who want me to lose weight can go f**k themselves in their creamy ass. I love my body. But everything else...like my hair and everything...UGH! I just wish people would find me as attractive as I do. But instead they find girls who look like s**t in my opinion attractive. :x

Yeah, I hate myself too. My hair is thin but it still sucks because even when I use anti-frizz shampoo, my hair looks too frizzy. No matter what I do, I don't feel that I look attractive either. That's why I bust my ass trying to lose weight, hoping it'll help in other areas of my life. I hate my hair, my body, my skin (it's too pale, I can't tan naturally. I only burn in the sun), and how clothes fit me (they only make ugly clothes in plus-sizes). I suck at applying make-up apart from mascara, blush, foundation and lip-gloss. I can't figure out how to use eyeliner or eyeshadow in a way that makes me look more mature. D:

I don't want to lose weight at all. I feel attractive but other people don't find me attractive. I'm of Italian heritage so my skin is a pale olive color which is kinda weird. and yeah.

I hate purchasing clothes online. I feel like I have to try it on myself before I purchase it, otherwise I'll be unsatisfied when it gets here and returning things online is such a pain. Also, their sizing system confuses me. >.<

I'm all white. Pale is never attractive, despite what the Twitards say. I don't feel attractive so I don't think others find me attractive either. College guys only want arm candy so I probably won't have a real relationship with someone until I either lose 100 pounds or get really old. D:

I'm plus sized too. I've learned to do basic alterations to my clothes to flatter my figure and make them fit better. While I do want to lose a bit of weight, my goal weight is still considered plus sized and I don't care.

I'm also extremely pale...can't tan or burn. I've noticed the last few years it's becoming impossible to find foundation in my shade at the drugstores because all the goth kids keep buying out the palest colors, so I'm stuck buying online or buying more expensive foundation. It's still really hard to find my color (bottles say my color is pearl, or alabaster, or translucent). I actually like the fact that I'm so pale/can't tan, though. I don't care if other people like girls tanned. I look good, and my pale skin goes well with any shade of red I choose to dye [edit: my hair] so what's not to love?

If you want to know how to put on makeup, the ladies at the makeup counter in the mall showed me. They'll pressure you to buy, but if you tell them you're color shopping with intent to buy later or you bought eyeshadow/eyeliner/etc from them but couldn't figure out how to use it, they'll help you out. I go for a makeover every few years because makeup trends change over time, but it helps me out because I can't figure out for the life of me what I'm supposed to do on my own. I suppose youtube videos would help, but how to tell what's good advice and what's bad?

All in all, though, the fact that I like me and other peoples' opinions are usually irrelevant has led to society thinking I'm attractive more often than not. They seem to 'follow my lead' as it were. Society loves to prey on people who are insecure (haven't we all noticed that?) but if they can't find any Chinese in the armor, they give me only positive feedback if they give any at all.

Of course, I'm older (34) and some of my lack of caring comes from years of trying to make other people happy while making myself miserable, deciding it was futile, and learning to just like me instead.

If your hair is thin, don't use a dryer, because it makes it quickly damaged. High temperatures damages hair and they become greasy faster. Hair loves cold water, conditioners (for thin hair, use this without silicones), wide combs and natural brushes. Hair hates metal brushes, warm water, dryers and straighteners. Don't rub your hair with a towel, but wring it. Let it dry naturally. My hair is thick, so it dries looong, but thin dries quickly.

Pale skin is ok, if you wear clothes in right colours and do makeup in right colours. I recommend these sites:
http://www.style-makeover-hq.com/season ... lysis.html
http://www.beauty-and-the-bath.com/Seas ... lysis.html

I have pale olive skin, dark auburn hair dyed black and hazel eyes. So I use Deep Winter colours and it works.

You probably know Trinny and Susannah. Find your body type and use their advices.

I remember conditioner making my hair all greasy and gross. Also, I'll use a blow dryer on my hair for like 2 minutes and that's it. It'll air dry the rest of the time. It pisses my mom and grandma off though. "Did you even dry your hair?" They use the blow dryer for 5+ minutes and I swear it makes their hair like straw. >.<

You probably used a conditioner with too much silicones. It's too heavy for thin hair. There are conditioners without silicones, they're available in Rossmann.
Conditioners "wash off" will be better for your hair.
There's also spray for easier combing, "Lilliputz", available in Rossmann. It's made for children and it's delicate. Generally thin hair likes more children's shampoos/conditioners, than adult's.

Any stylizers (gel, foam, hairspray) damage hair and use them very rarely.

I wished I would have known this yesterday. I was at the grocery store and could have picked some up. Oh well, maybe next time. >.<

For many people, conditioner is not enough.
You know all the models with perfect hair? Well the reality is they have about 5 products in it.

If your hair is naturally frizzy, put a smoothing serum in it when its dry (let it dry naturally) Also a straightening iron (use thermal protector first) can help.

My hair looks like a rats nest all the time. Sometimes people are luckier than others, and those who aren't need to use products. Not fair i know, but such is life.

Also never use silicon shampoo/conditioner no matter what hair type you use. I creates a hard shell on the heair whic leads to it snapping. Pantene and Sunsilk are silicon shampoos/conditioners

Pentene was the conditioner I tried to use as a kid. It made me look so greasy that mom thought I didn't shower at all. I used Sunsilk in my freshman year of college, was not impressed. Right now I'm using bain de terre anti-frizz shampoo for fine hair. Upon inspecting the bottle, it says it has silicone in it...lovely. Now let's check the bottle of Herbal Essences shampoo I have. No silicone/silicon in there. :D

Is silicon and silicone the same thing? I'm not sure. >.<

A little list :D

How to recognise the silicones:
Dimethicony, silicone rubber, silicone latex, latex, dimethyl silicone, simethicone, dimethyl polysiloxane, dermafilm, silbar, dimethicream, poly(dimethylsiloxane), methyl silicone, dimethicone 350, good-rite, cyclomethicone- everything ending with methicone, siloxane or just silicone.

Water Soluble:
- dimethicone copolyol
- lauryl methicone copolyol
- hydrolyzed wheat protein hydroxypropyl polysiloxane
- everything beginning with PEG

Insoluble, easy to remove by mild shampoos (f.e. with coco betaine)
- amodimethicone (often mixed with trideceth-12 and cetrimonium chloride, it makes removing easier) - pretty nice silicon
- dimethicone
- dimethiconol
- beheonoxy dimethicone
- phenyl trimethicone

Insoluble, hard to remove by mild shampoos (you have to keep the shampoo on your head for some minutes):
- simethicone
- trimethicone

Requiring Sulphates (SLS, SLES) to remove:
- cyclomethicone
- cyclopentasiloxane
- trimethylsilylamodimethic one
- trimethylsiloxysilicates

That's a big list. I'll have to inspect my shampoos further when I get back to the room. 8O

Seriously EFF PANTENE. I always liked it when I was younger but having known some aspiring cosmetologists in the past 2 years I've heard more bad things about pantene than any other shampoo.

Infusium is awesome as far as hair products you can buy at walmart go. Denorex, Selsun Blue, Suave, Head and Shoulders, Axe, etc. do NOT agree with my scalp.

You seem to have a lot of anger towards people who don't find you attractive, and yet say you don't care what they think. Unfortunately there will always be people who don't find you attractive no matter what you look like. You're better off ignoring their comments entirely and doing what makes you feel good about yourself.

Maybe a new haircut will help you get your hair to sit the way you want? Along with the other ideas in this thread. I'd had the same style (but differing lengths) for most of my life, and I finally went to a salon and got my hair cut with bangs. It made a HUGE difference. It means more work in the morning, but I get a lot more positive comments on how I look. And I feel really good about myself, at least, compared to before. I think I look cute and I can add hair accessories that I would never have tried before.

If you have frizzy hair you can also try the Fructis Blow Dry Perfector stuff. http://www.garnierusa.com/_en/_us/our_p ... R_PRODUCTS^PRD_STYLING^FRUCTIS_STYLE^STYLE_DISCOVER^STYLE_SLEEK_SHINE^STYLE_SLEEK_SHINE_RTN2bis&prdcode=P60126

It's supposed to make it sleeker and smoother. I haven't tried it myself though I'm interested. My big issue is fly-aways and dead-ends. I can use a flat iron and smoothing 'milk' stuff all I want and my hair still looks bad in bright light.

Pale skin is very pretty. I know a german girl with very white skin and she is very attractive. But many shade are pretty, brown, black, olive, I actually have olive skin myself.
