I don't care how many people tell me it's unhealthy...I don't ever want to go through that kind of pain again. Seriously even when I had a cracked rib from a mountain bike crash it hurt less than this.

How the f**k to lower my body fat that low? I am already like 14% so it shouldn't be that hard. I don't care how unhealthy it is. It can't be as bad as almost going into shock because you are in that much f*****g pain. I thought I was actually going into shock. My skin was really cold, hyper fast but faint pulse and I felt really weak.

Anyone got some advice?

Excessively painful periods are a legit medical problem and there a number of causes, such as ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids and endometriosis. To treat your pain properly, you'll need to determine the cause. You should see a doctor, preferably a reproductive endocrinologist. If there is an underlying health problem that is causing your painful periods, being anorexic will only make them worse, as well as cause other serious health problems.

Aside from the debilitating pain I've experienced, I have been hospitalized twice due to ovarian cysts. That's how serious these problems can be, but they are treatable. You just need to know what's actually wrong to treat them effectively.

See a doctor, and if the first one you see just tells you it's normal, demand a referral to endocrinologist.

Might be ovarian, yeah. They seem to swell up and catch in my muscle wall when I move...You know that hard part where the obliques attach? I feel something catch under that part when I move.

I agree with the others. Talk to your doctor.
And I must add something else : we know that pain during period is related about how you live it in your mind, how you live your body, how you live the fact to be a woman, etc. So I can't say if there's a problem for you about that. But if maybe there is one, a psychotherapy could also help.

Mine are bad too. They were bad as a teenager, and then they were better, now they are as bad as when I was a teenager. It takes 2 Aleve and 4 hours to get the pain tolerable, after being woken up in the middle of the night in a fetal position. My boobs kill me worse than my gut and back sometimes, and it almost makes me cry.

If there isn't an issue like the poster said above, I do know that birth control pills reduce symptoms pretty significantly, at least for me they did. I can't take them, otherwise I would for this very reason. Exercise helps too, but if you have that low of body fat you probably already do that.

I get what you're saying. I'm waiting anxiously for menopause and I don't know what's keeping it from coming.

I definitely don't want BC pills. I don't want to lose my already low muscle mass.

Seems to run in my family. My mom always had really bad ones and so does my sis.

I couldn't tell you if it's psychosomatic, but I do have issues about being a woman...it makes me angry that my body is trying to have a baby against my will.

I like the aesthetic of my body but I don't like the 'baby making' part. I feel like all the males in my life got super powers at puberty and all I got was the ability to have babies, which I don't feel is a strength or a power of sorts, as I don't really like children and I don't want any of my own.

So yeah. May be a mental component.

Why starve yourself when you can get rid of them by taking the pill?

Seriously - see a gynecologist. Try to find one who is not an obstetrician as well, they are out there - obstetricians don't like to talk about permanent measures with anybody they see as possibly able to have children in the future - but sometimes that's worth discussing. Lowering your body fat to the point that you don't have periods is really dangerous - your body stops menstruation as a response to starvation.

I have had endometriosis for most of my adult life (and probably most of my adolescence, it took a cyst the size of a grapefruit and surgery to convince my doctor something was wrong) There are all kinds of conditions that can cause the symptoms you describe, and most can be treated. I am intolerant of birth control pills (a common prescription for my condition,) they make me nauseous, but there are other medications that can help - some without weight side effects, check the side effects carefully for anything you're prescribed. I was also helped by surgery, which can be indicated in certain extreme situations.

You can also help yourself right now by applying a hot pad to your stomach, taking over-the-counter medications as indicated (NSAIDS are a good idea because they also help with inflammation.) Essentially, your uterus is a muscle, and it cramps like any other muscle when it's overworked.

If you were talking to me I was being bad. Men have their issues too. We just seem to get the poopy end of the stick sometimes. They don't always have it easy either.

I would never starve myself. I was thinking very harsh endurance training not starving myself.

The pill craps over your ability to put on muscle and get stronger. And tends to cause larger breasts as well. I don't want to be blubbery and weak with size H breasts.

Hm I thought that study only found muscle to grow less in size, not for there to be less strength gains. But I won't question your priorities, I know the feeling myself.
But I also know that having my period messes up my workout routines so much I won't gain if I'm not on it anyway.

That's a pretty good description of where I'm at - blubbery and weak with H breasts (except I think they're J, not H.) Hormones did it to me, but not the pill. It's the result of giving birth. I hate it and am trying all kinds of things to try to get my body back. It pisses me off that I had a stillbirth so I didn't even get anything out of it other than completely destroying my body.

Ohh damn. Sorry to hear that.

I don't ever want to be pregnant. The idea freaks me right out. I felt sick and shocked seeing a picture of a fetus in the news. It was about facial expressions being visible at around 20 weeks (I think) though they may be just reflexes. The idea that one of these things might develop in me by accident and that I'd have no legal right to remove it...I swear, if you had 6 SS guards hold me down and told me you were about to do major surgery on me without anesthesia, I'd feel less terrified and violated than if I had to be pregnant and have the baby. Less feeling that not a corner of the world was mine, not even my own body.
