..that they're really good looking these days?

No one else is still a victim of beauty industry standards?

I mean, more power to you all, it's just interesting. I don't remember seeing this kind of confidence here a couple years ago. Now it seems half the posts I just browsed through on this subforum have an introductory paragraph on how attractive the poster is.

Is that supposed to be a bad thing?

I can't say I've noticed this. Can you link to some of the posts in question?

If it helps, I'll admit I'm ugly. So what?

Well people probably say that because it's a nice thing to say. It's horrible to tell someone they're ugly.

I've noticed that if there is a female poster on here that's a 5/10 or 6/10 people often act like she's around 9/10.

I've noticed this, too. I don't think it's a big deal, though.

well "number ratings" are different for different individuals. How do you know they don't actually think that?
Even if they don't, why does it matter? Isn't it positive to make people feel better about themselves?

I think that's the point the OP was trying to make though.

I'm not sure it was. I get the feeling the OP is downing women for being confident in their looks and not wearing make-up.

I don't think I've seen a guy on any aspie website that is more than a 2/10. I am probably a 3 or 4 out of 10, so relatively I feel about as hot as an 8/10 person. Although in real life I feel s**t.

?? I dont completely understand what your saying? Many aspie females think their good looking when their not? What I can say for myself, Im not ugly but I can be good looking if I make the effort which most times I dont. Probably range from a 4/10(plain, average, just threw on sweats look) to an 8/10(dressed fashionably, a little makeup) depending on how much effort I put in.

I'm average-looking, I think, but I'm not going to dye my hair or wear lots of makeup to make myself look better because I don't give a damn what most men think about how I look.

I'm not sure I understand the question either. I'm probably a 5/6, but I'm OK with that. My husband likes me well enough.

I don't wear makeup though (exception is my wedding but that was over a year ago). I just can't be bothered. It takes too much time and too much effort. Maybe I'm lazy, or maybe I'm aspie or maybe I'm both... but just because I don't diet/wear makeup doesn't mean I like how I look... if that makes any sense.
