I've been having a very bad case of PMS over the past week. I've been weepy, angry, bitchy and not very pleasant at all. I would end up crying, thinking that I must have hurt my closest friend, with the stuff that I've posted. I was doing things that were out of character for CockneyRebel, such as that Order for World Peace. Since when was I into peace and warfare? I'm usually into Routemasters and similar Buses, instead. Not last week, I wasn't. And I was talking about Booze and Pot, quite a bit, as well. I never talk about Booze and Pot, in my life! Now I've posted some stupid apology in the Random Discussion Forum. What's happening to me?

Do you ever get this way, before your Periods?

Cockney rebel, at this moment I am a crazed woman, also extremly premenstral. I even shouted at my beloved kitty, for well, just being a cat. I baited a workmate. (enjoyed that haha) am also extra sensitive to other peoples eating and breathing noises right now, had to leave room when beloved was eatin a cracker.

I get way more premenstral if the preceeding weeks have been stressful, which of course they have, xmas and all. And all that extra sugar, gin and tonics and cigs!!. no wonder I feel like a killa.

jonathandoors, one day some woman under the influence of 'menarche' will damage you.. and you will indeed understand it is 'that hard'.

I'm male. I was trying to warn you against asking "how bad" any womens' problems are if you aren't a woman. Well, more specifically asking if it is "that bad" or "that hard."

I was never really bothered by PMS till after having my youngest son, something messed around with my hormones and all after having a tubal ligation done and I go through some months like what you describe and other months where things aren't so chaotic. Found taking caffeine and chocolate and some other things out of my diet during those times has helped as well.

Then you haven't done anything to piss them off. This is a good thing.

Oh, and in case you have thought about it, or thought it may be a good idea (not trying to imply you have, just in case, for your own sake) if you think one of them is...don't ask. Either you will be right and they will be offended, or you will be wrong and they will be offended. We can't understand what it is like for any of this, but its bad. I remember guys trying to make comparisons, like "Is it as bad as getting kicked in the nuts?" to which the females involved would look at them either with pity, or with a look that suggested they wanted to test the theory just so the guy would shut up.

When it comes to women's issues, I've learned one thing, thanks to C-3PO.
"Let the wookie win."

jonathandoors...if you're ever near any that are over the age of 37 and they mention the word "period" and "peri-menopause" in the same sentence...be afraid, be very, VERY afraid.

I've heard giving up the caffeine and chocolate really DOES help...I'm afraid with me though taking away my chocolate could be a very bad thing...afraid to try it.

Personally...I'd have to say from pre-teen to about 35....menstruating.

From 35 up...definately PMS.

I do sometimes but it varies from month to month. I've heard Evening Primrose Oil is a good natural remedy for PMS, but I'm yet to try it.

I had the worst PMS EVER this month. I was so mean to everybody, including my sweet MIL that we were visiting and my poor little boys (I have 3 young sons.) I am almost over my period, but I have to say this was the heaviest period I ever remember having as well. I wonder if the 2 are related?
