*Ahem* Now that that is out of the way, for those who are not in the know, Lolita is a Japanese street fashion, popularized by the singer Mana of Malice Mizier, there are many brands that sell Lolita, although they used to have a pretty prominant (and still somewhat strong) DiY community. The fashion is known as a "Cute" sort of appearance, with a bell-shaped skirt, modest necklines (and modesty in general), subtle-makeup, stockings, and cute shoes (Rocking Horse Shoes, or Mary-Janes are the most common, although Tea Parties are popular with Sweet.)

The style can range from the black-clad and skull-featuring Gothic Lolita (where, while it's still pretty Gothic, retains a sort of cute look to it), to Sweet, what with its show of pinks, usually large wigs, and pastel prints, generally a more over-the-top style.

With the base description out of the way, are there any Aspie girls who are into the Lolita fashion? I ask as an Aspie Lolita (Classical and Gothic myself), and wanted to know how you lovely ladies deal with the community. Now, I have been blessed with a wonderful and supportive community, but I know the online community, and some other local ones are fairly catty. How do you deal?

Likewise, do your sensorary problems ever get in the way, or influence the type of clothing you wear? (Like avoiding wearing too much lace if you find it uncomfortable, et cetera?)

Never heard of it. But to answer your question, I don't have a whole lot of issues with clothes. I mean, I don't like them to be too rough, or too tight, and I never liked tags in the back of my clothes, but otherwise, I don't really have problems with clothes.

I don't wear Lolita, it's expensive.. but I LOVE it. I don't really talk to anyone who is into gothic lolita. I don't like all the styles but there are gems in there which are amazing.

I also like punk - goth and scene - goth. And I LOVE lace.

Are you referring to the Vladimir Nabokov novel?

I found this a while back and would play with it from time to time. It is sort of like computerised paper dolls and you can dress them. Some of the games feature anime style clothes, and there are a couple of goth ones too.

While I don't dress up in Lolita style myself (too expensive), I admire the style because it reminds me of Victorian England, which is one of my minor interests.

I love playing online dress-up games! I used to feel embarrassed about it because of my age, so I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I absolutely adore loli! I've gained a lot of weight due to depression eating (I mean A LOT - I've doubled my weight over the last 2.5 years) and refuse to be seen in anything cute until I lose it. After I do, however, I plan on making my own classic loli wear.

Regarding AS and loli:

I figure I'll have to be careful about what fabric I use for a petti; scratchy things like toole would drive me nuts. The fabrics would have to be like any of my other clothes: soft, soft, soft. I have metal allergies so jewelry can be difficult. Also: I have severe food allergies and asthma, so I need to carry an Epipen and portable nebulizer everywhere I go. No tiny purses for me!

I plan on going straight classic because I figure that it is the least socially odd of the various types. Sweet amazes me and it would be so fun to wear it - but I am way too old and I couldn't handle the stares, anyway.

I used to be into it when I was younger. I had some cheap DIY pieces that I bought from sellers online. I'm not into wearing it now but I still think that it's really fun and cute looking.

i really like the various lolita styles a lot too, some more than other, but i think that i like steampunk fashion (and other steampunk items) even a little bit more.

I love steampunk! I wish I could own some steampunk-inspired electronics. I also wish that I could dress up as a Victorian era gentleman... and then combine that with the steampunk electronics so that I could go to a steampunk con.

I love lolita and other ultra fem styles {minus the excessive pink bleh lol},I'm not awar of any sensory issues i have w clothing.

I have a collection of what would be called Classic Lolita clothing because a friend of mine introduced me to it. However, before that I had some Victorian lacy dresses and cameos etc, so I've just expanded on it.

I do have to comment on this. See the reason why they name the fashion lolita is because they are *trying* to emulate sexually promiscuous young girl though often the people who are cosplaying with that stuff are legal age. There trying to be overly cutesy and freaky at the same time sometimes with skimpy clothing. Japan has this crazy kawaii thing where cute, innocent girls equal sexy.
