Ok, so for my women's studies class, I'm doing my final project on women and autism. I would like to make a video with some of your responses to a few questions. There are a few rules though:

*You MUST be 18 or older. University policy on interviewing minors..... I don't want to deal with the parental consent paperwork.

*I would prefer if you are from and/or currently live in the United States. If I get at least 3 American responses, I can use foreign responses as a comparison, but I need to get the majority of my info about people in the US. (I'm sorry, the class is focused on US issues, I know a bunch of you are from elsewhere, and I would appreciate your responses too, but I need at least 3 from the US.)

*You must be biologically female. Trans people are welcome to reply, but no males please (It's a women's studies class.....)

*I would also like to note that I am NOT just looking for responses from people with Asperger's, I would like it if I could get at least a response or two from people with other ASDs. If you are non-verbal and use one of those text reader programs (idk if that's the right word for it, but I think you know what I mean), I think that would be really cool to show too.

Let me know how you would like to be credited (your name, first name, username, anonymous....)

And by providing me with a video response, you give me permission to use your image and voice for the purposes of this assignment which will be shown to a class of approximately 35 students and the instructor.

Ok, here are the questions:

1. What is your diagnosis/self-diagnosis?

2. How would you briefly explain your form of autism to someone who has no idea what it is?

3. How do you think autism affects your experience of gender?

4. How do you think being female affects your experience of autism?

Ok, now here's the part I haven't totally thought out yet: how to get the videos to where I can edit them together. I'm under the impression that email has restrictions on how big files can be to send them, I could be wrong, idk. I've also heard there's a way to download youtube videos, but idk about that. And there are file sharing programs I've heard of.... So, if those of you who are more technologically savvy than me could point me in the right direction with that, it would be greatly appreciated.

So, make a video of yourself answering those questions, figure out how to get it to me.... Uh, I'm not sure how that will work, but assuming I can download youtube videos, you could post that here, or make it unlisted and send me the link either in a pm here or at my school email: [email protected]

I really really appreciate anybody who takes the time to do this for me. Maybe you can discuss here what I should do to show my appreciation to you guys :D

Edit: I'm presenting on the 14th, so if I could have your videos by the 11th at the latest, that would be wonderful.

Sounds very neat, I'll participate! It's good that you'll be spreading knowledge about an underresearched topic.

I would like you to make us Cranberry Boggers. I have been thinking about them for two weeks straight.

I joke, I joke. Uhm, maybe you could make a metal sculpture of everyone who participates in this. We could be on horses but we could be 4 to a horse to save you time, we don't each need our individual horse.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! :bounce:

Hmm, I'll have to think about my token of appreciation. I don't do flour or eggs or milk, plus shipping food items can get complicated. And I don't think you want anything from me that involves artistic/creative skill which I don't possess lol.

How long of responses do you want? One sentence each? One minute total? Five minutes total? As long as we can rant on the subject realizing that this might be a special interest for some people?

My total presentation has to be at least 12 minutes (max 20 min), so the less time I have to spend talking, the better  Rant away, I can edit it down if I end up with too much material.

Megz, I would be all over this if I owned a camera. Sorry I can't help! I'm such a Luddite when it comes to technology.

I'm so psyched that you're addressing this in your women's studies class!

*bump*

Are purchase and Tuttle working on responses?

And how would Ai_Ling like to be credited?

If I get at least those 2 responses, I should be good to go :D Thanks again for your help you guys!

I need to test to see if my tablet can produce good enough video with its webcam now that its stand came in (which I had been waiting for). I should do that today.

Thank you Tuttle! :D I was also passed up for a diagnosis when I was 12 or 13 because of being female. I really really appreciate this you guys. I'm trying to think of a way to show my appreciation..... Hmm, I could make a video of my dog doing tricks, people seem to find that entertaining
