I know I already made a post on this. But with female aspies blending in so well and going undetected. Are you girls as female aspies decent at spotting out other female aspies. Cause in my unofficial analysis of casually spotting potential aspies out. Ive spotted out 3x more suspected male aspies then female aspies. But then theres some theories out there that the ratio could be 1:1. And I realize there are probably female aspies who missed my radar.

I'm just talking about in regular life not meeting them in aspie groups. I've known or spotted out around 9 suspected male aspies and 3 suspected female ones. But mind the fact that this is my unprofessional observations.

The suspected female aspies Ive seen were these twin girls in HS. They seemingly always kept to themselves. One of them appeared socially competent(she took acting classes) and the other was more awkward. They had very few friends and they always came off like they didnt want friends. They were very smart tho. The next suspected female aspie was this secretary at the doctors office. Her voice is rather flat, she seems a bit lost on her job, she was abruptly rude and blunt to me the first time I called. She reminds me of the customer service I give on my job.

How good are you at spotting out other female aspies?

Not good, because there are no physical traits exclusive to Aspies, male or female.

As far as functioning goes, it all varies by person, plus I am very mild AS myself, and I have even been told by other Aspies that I may have been misdiagnosed and may just be a quirky NT guy.

Nevertheless, I was diagnosed as AS and I decided to just live with it.

What about the expressionless face? I've encountered this many times in aspies. And sometimes an awkward posture or walk. Body movements and/or hands sometimes look fragile/shaky.

As for female aspies, I only notice they look aspie if they have learning difficulties as well. I base this on about 10 I've met. They often have the blank expression too, whether they have LD or not.

Don't know yet. I've only met one other female who I think has some kind of autism (one of my students), and I've never asked.
("Right, so you need to practice x, y, and z and by the way, are you autistic?" seems kind of awkward.)

I've spotted a few, including friends, acquaintances, and people I've met online. (I don't know if you've ever walked around a fan convention, Society for Creative Anachronism event, or pagan festival, but they're everywhere at those places.)

yeah, im mistakened for a quirky or aloof NT as well. I typically spot out aspies which tend mostly to be through subtle amounts of social awkwardness. See Im not sure if the guy at my work is aspie. But he sometimes talks inappropriately loud, he'll go off on monologues when explaining things, and hes exhibited some other strange behavior. If its not aspergers, Im pretty sure he's got something.

Just spotting them out thru small things, such as a monotone voice, going off on monologue like tangents, etc. Everyone exhibits different symptoms. But the female ones are harder. Like the twins I mentioned, they dont appear like too socially awkward, they're seem more socially withdrawn more out of choice and thats it. If there not aspie, I suspected they were at least NVLD.

it seems like i can come up with the theory that a man i know very superficially is aspie pretty quickly, but with women i need to get to know them much more intimately. one thing i've noticed is women who have a tendency to be obsessed with things from their childhood might be aspie--or if they get really disrupted when you rearrange plans with them, etc. i have theorized about at least 12 guys i know, and only two or three women. much harder for me to tell!

As far as I know, I've never met another female aspie IRL. I'd be interested to see if I COULD spot them.

If I see one little thing, I'm usually thinking, "maybe she has it!"
Unless I am distracted by other thoughts.
So I think I overgeneralize, and it makes me feel better seeing them everywhere.
It would be nice to know when I'm right or not.
I'm sure some of them are undiagnosed milder cases.
Of course sometimes I'm more sure than others.
But really, I think too many females would never get a formal diagnosis.
It would be hard for me to get one, unless the other person made me more nervous.
A lot of people could show certain traits just because they're so stressed, preoccupied, tired, confused.
