Made a docor's appointment for my breast
I finally hunkered down and made a doctor's appointment for next week to have my right breast checked out. Ever since they switched my birth control from Yazmin to Ocella it hurt and was tender as hell. The Ocella caused so many problems that I couldn't stand to be on it longer than two weeks, so now I'm on nothing since insurance no longer covers Yazmin.
The thing is that I thought the breast issue would go away when I got off of Ocella but it keeps coming back. And I never had breast tenderness, not even when I was going through puberty. And it's just the right breast. It's been well over a month now since I went off of birth control.
I have a hard time figuring out if there's a lump there because there are so many lumpy things in there that I get confused, and it hurts when I try to press on it. I'm hoping that going to the doctor will set my mind at ease. I don't usually go to see a doctor for things, but this I am really concerned about, because I can't determine what the problem could be and my imagination is running absolutely wild.
I've never had kids or been pregnant and I'm in my mid-twenties.
From what I remember about the pill it has a tendency to increase cancers of the breast (but decreases cancers of the cervix and ovaries) which makes me more nervous.
I've been on the pill for about 7-8 years starting before I was 18, and I've only taken a few short breaks from it. The pill helps with my doctor-speculated endometriosis (I never got diagnosed with it because it required an invasive procedure to determine, but my plumbing and entire body hurts like the dickens at certain times of the month).

Do you think you might have fibrocystic breast syndrome?
I have it - and my breasts are lumpy and sore, especially before my period. I was concerned about pain in the breasts, so I went to a doctor and she did a breast exam. She told me two important things:
1. Sore, tender, even pain is not a symptom of breast cancer. It's a hormonal issue
2. You should only be concerned about a lump if it is hard and does not move with the rest of your breast when you move it (fixed, immobile lump). If it is movable, it's most likely fibrous breast tissue.
Fibrocystic breast syndrome is really just lumpy breasts where the lumps are absolutely normal and benign, and there are more lumps on the sides of the breast near your armpit than anywhere else. It's just tougher tissue, and it hurts more because there is more fluid in your breast.
I'm in my 20s as well. My breasts have gotten very sore at certain times of the month - apparently it's hormonal and normal.
I didn't know that most breast cancer is painless, but that's why women check for lumps and have mammograms - they wouldn't know otherwise.
EstherJ has some good advice, and i am glad you are getting it checked out Senath. i get a lot of pain in my breasts at various times in my menstrual cycle and i had a doctor tell me once that my breasts are "lumpy and cystic" (gee thanks). breastfeeding was extremely painful because the "letdown reflex" seemed to aggravate.... whatever it is that hurts.
