I have some instances of this I could discuss, but I don't want to right now. I love that they have Maru in the links for that page, though.

I could only read a couple of them, too angry to read the rest.

I'm really confused when I read about girls being raped or harassed several times in their lives. I mean, not that I don't believe them, but I'm 19 now and for some reason I managed to get through life without so much as a single incident. That doesn't mean no man has ever been rude or condescending towards me, but no unwanted touching or anything. I guess I'm lucky.

Baggy hoodies and trench coats, the epitome of slut wear

Some guys like that (not all guys, just the creeps like that) must see a girl well covered and think "hot girl trying to disguise the fact she's hot". So in the end it doesn't really matter what you wear.

I've been harassed in this manner before, several times, when I was in high school and college. It hasn't happened much now that I'm a mom and a little bit flabbier than I used to be. My guess is that it happens more to younger women and teenagers because they seem more vulnerable? But it can happen to anyone regardless of age or dress or looks.

First really overt time for me was when I was about 16, wearing jeans (not tight ones, either) and a sweatshirt, walking my dog in a park. Some 30-ish dude followed me for about 10 minutes, trying to start a conversation. I had no idea what to do - I was a pretty calm teen, and I was still listening to my parents at that point, and I didn't know how to be 'rude' and tell him to f**k off and leave me alone.

I've gone through this a number of times just walking down the street and promise it isn't your clothing they're paying attention to.

I was in plan grey sweatpants and a baggy sweat shirt covered in paint from the work I was doing and got followed. All the way down a full city block this man on a bike kept asking me how much and making comments about what a hot whore I was. Thankfully there was a store at the end of the block where the people knew me and called the cops for me, yea fun walk...

I'm not sure if it has to do with the whole bullying thing that tends to follow Aspies and similar people but it sure feels like it. It's happened before this and since but this is probably the most aggressive and truly negative experience I've had in public.

I couldn't read the tumblr thing but I've been followed before many times. And I'm butt-ugly and flabby. :? Once when I was 20 I was walking in a busy urban area and noticed that a van kept going past me. They were driving around the block following me until I got to a more deserted area, so I turned around and went back the way I came and ducked into the first open door I found.

I had that happen to me too. They were even yelling things like "comere *****" and pulled into a driveway a ways in front of me. It was pretty scary. I crossed the street before I got up to them, went up a ways, and crossed back over and went in a bar and used the payphone to call someone to pick me up.
