As you can see on THIS picture, I have long, brown and mostly straight hair. I usually just let it open but that's gotten a little boring. What hairstyle do you think would look good on me? I have a hard time judging things like that.

Oh, also, I generally want it to stay long. I like the more "conservative", simple and long hairstyles. I was thinking, maybe curls? Or some kind of braids?

It generally looks great on you. I would say take a few inches off the ends, add some layers in front, and perhaps some long side-swept bangs. :thumleft:

I have long hair like that, and from time to time I like something different too. I do several different updo's. One that I like is a variation of the "Snookie Pouf".

It's quick and easy and looks pretty without being overdone, or as big as Snookies.

Do this on hair washed at least the day before, never the same day.

Part your hair across the top from ear to ear. Comb the front part out of the way and pin. Take a section about four inches wide and two inches deep from the back part and tease it. Really tease it good. Spray it and let that dry. Then roll it up towrd the back into a roll and using bobby pins, pin it to the top of your head.

Take the hair from the front and take out a few inches in the very front for bangs and pin that out of the way. Divide the rest into three sections. Middle, left side, right side. Brush a side section smooth and then pull it back to cover the side of the "roll". Pin with a bobby pin. Do the other side like that too. Then pin the middle section over the top of the roll. It should look neat and smooth and all the hair pinned in one spot in the back. Add extra pins to hold it, then straighten the rest of your hair. Spray the top part very well and add a pretty clip in the back to cover the pins.

There are lots of pretty updo's you can do.

Any way to just add volume to it? Long curling would work.

I considered getting bangs but the problem is that I can't stand the feeling of hair touching my face..
might try again though

I agree that adding some volume would help (particularly in the area around your cheeks). Since your hair looks rather straight that might involve curling it. However, you could also just wear it in pigtails on the sides (or any other coiffure that added emphasis on the sides). Wearing barrettes could also work.
