I've decided that I'm just going to start wearing whatever I want. I don't completely conform to fashion trends (nor could I, I'm so clueless), but I do make an effort. I think that I would be a lot happier just developing my own sense of fashion. For example, I've been wanting to wear cowboy boots (cowgirl?) for a long long time, but they aren't exactly trendy here. When I decided that I'm going to just do it anyway, I felt a lot happier about the concept of putting on shoes every day!

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you dress in unique ways, if you care at all?

I think you should dress exactly as you choose.

I'm not sure if what I wear could be dignified with the word 'style' but I wear what I like. I don't wear trousers or jeans. I only wear knee length or ankle length skirts, cardigans and jumpers and long sleeved tops. People tell ,me I dress like an old lady or like Amy Farrah Fowler from The Big Bang Theory, but I really don't care. I like what I like and I've given up trying to look like everyone else now I have realised that I will never fit in anyway.

I wear what I want. A few people have commented on my unique style; I wouldn't personally call it that, though. Generally, I only wear jeans, T shirts, and sneakers. I, also, wear my hair really short. I cut it about once every six weeks with a 1" clipper guard. And my hair is currently dyed bright red.

I definitely have my own style. I've tried in the past to conform to trends, without much success. I don't really understand "popular fashion", and I have my own taste. Comfy-casual, hunting casual, and military casual. I really, really like army surplus.
Example of my military casual - my pink Browning hoodie (I love hunting) and my army jacket.

My style changes with my mood, too. For example, today my mom asked me why I wasn't wearing my army jacket - I chose to wear a lined hoodie, but it was because I wanted comfy not rigid and it looked better with my husband's pajama pants that I am wearing today.

I enjoy dressing the way that Mick Avory did in the Mid 60s. I don't worry about what the majority of the people in my area think about it. I'm not going to dress feminine, if I feel that I was born the wrong gender. I'm also not going to follow today's trends and fashions if I don't like this time in history. I've felt a lot happier and healthier since I've been doing this, a little over three years ago. I've had one person on WP ask if it would be easier and healthier for me just to live in the present. I told him exactly as it is for me, and I haven't seen him on here much, since than. I don't feel apologetic for saying it like it was, but I feel guilty that my words scared him away. I'm going to do what I want and not what some 20 year old tells me to do.

Good for you for embracing your inner style! I find that not many people really do that, but I do find that a lot of people on the spectrum to like to create their own signature look.

As for my own, it's always been described as "artsy" by many people. I like cardigans, sweaters, skirts/tights, and skinny jeans...and I go through periods of really specific colors. For a few of years I used to dress very grungy: lots of black and grey with faded jeans and a few striped shirts mixed in. Recently, I've gone towards a more fun, polished look with colors like rose pink, teal, and bright blue. I've also gone more feminine, with lots of lace, bows, and skirts. Love stuff that is tight fitting and emphasises my narrow waist.

I definitely do and it clashes with the cultural expectations of the way women here think I "should" dress.

My style is not in line with what they think it should be - it's more feminine than normal and it seems to threaten them for some reason, I have often been accused of trying to set womens Lib back by 50 years by randoms or people I don't know well. I love bright, bold colors or particular patterns or certain color combinations (even better if something combines a few of those together). I love dresses, but I also wear shirts, cool tops or sometimes jeans or shorts. I like clothes that have an usual cut or design. I'm not afraid of clothes that show a lot of skin if it's hot outside, or of ones that don't if it's not. And I like shoes that look great but are extremely comfortable.

There are some days I simply can't deal with the crap that they give me for it - and on those days I wear my "invisible" clothes (a.k.a. dress in gender neutral - jeans and a t-shirt and sneakers). But I am unhappy when I do that and I only do that when I am feeling really stressed and can't take people's crap. I have been doing it a lot lately.

I tend to lean more towards timeless stuff. Jumpers, jeans, and trainers. Things I feel comfortable in and find practical. Even my hair is just casual (never been to a hair salon, and never will). The thing is though, I loathe clothes shopping. Everything about it is just boring or a hassle to me, and I mean REALLY genuinely, boring...

I'll wear the same things every day, and will not part with them until they've crawled into the nearest bin wishing to be set free! ...and the times I have been dragged out to buy clothes I'd rather just grab what I needed and run, without all that clart of having to try crap on in changing rooms, ugh.

Having said all that, I am a woman who DOES NOT care or judge how another woman wishes to dress.

I feel a quote coming on. Ready? 3,2,1... "Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." Fits very well here I think. :D

Nowadays it's jeans and t-shirts. When I was younger I had a thing for vintage "granny" dresses.

I will definitely take comfort over fashion. I usually wear a t-shirt, jeans, sneakers and some kind of jacket/hoodie. I also keep my hair really short because it's a disaster to take care of when it's longer. My mom always comments about how I look like a fourteen-year-old boy, but I really don't care. Fortunately, I'm not really in a setting where I need to dress nice for work, so people don't say anything about it.

Pah, who needs clothes? Just go naked, no need to worry then. My monkey fur keeps me warm.

Honestly? I feel uncomfortable in anything other than my pajamas. When I have to go out, I usually wear a long skirt with a t-shirt and soft, knee-high suede boots, and I sometimes swap the skirt for jeans.

Nope, not really. I actively follow fashion trends, so my clothing style is very mainstream. I like having certain guidelines on how I dress because otherwise I tend to buy really left-field things and don't want to risk it, since clothing is really the only domain where I am able to fully conform to society. I've been bullied a lot for my individual preferences when I was younger, so I think that has played a huge role.

Basically this.

I have sometimes wondered if I should try getting T-shirts with illustrated designs on them to seem more self expressive something.

For now I usually have plain 1 color T-shirts.
