Has anyone read Rudy Simone's newest book about relationships with an AS woman?

I'm curious to see people's opinions about whether they think it fits or is helpful to their mates or even friends & family.

Also her Aspergirls column has been unceremoniously removed from Psychology Today some time ago. Does anyone know where it went?

My boyfriend borrowed it from his library, and we've read several chapters aloud to one another, and remarked how it's spot on.
"Aspergirls" was so disappointing (I wasn't able to relate to any of the descriptions) but I highly-recommend 22 TTK. :)

worth a read then, it sounds like.

I liked Aspergirls but I did think of it that Rudy Simone must be less impaired than I - ? or more adept at communicating impairments in an NT-digestible manner, and overall I think if I had that capability I personally would be less impaired, in any case. Unlike other girls / women on the spectrum, however, I think I am fairly fixed / incapable of learning to interpret social situations - I plain don't do well with people too unlike myself.

Out of curiosity, if you're able to articulate in summary, how is it that you didn't relate?

My bf thought 22 things was a great book and really helped him understand me he also thought the same for Aspergirls. They also really helped me.

I read it and found it useful. It helped me see why some of the things I do are considered odd by others, or they might not understand what my reasoning is for my behaviours.

It's basic stuff, not too complicated language. A short book.

I read it today...cried through most of the introduction because I have never heard anyone express all the things that everyone else calls me crazy for feeling or doing. I am hoping to introduce it to someone I care about, however, I am not sure they will be receptive. Time will tell.

I thought the book was very good. But there was some stuff that didnt entirely pertain to me or didnt pertain very strongly to me. I had my bf read it and I made sure to tell him that because we've been only dating a few months.

I was only diagnosed about six months ago, so when I read it I found it helpful as a guide to understanding myself, and never mind giving it to my husband. Though it would definitely be good for him to read. He hasn't had time yet.

I have most of Rudy's books, and I met her last year when she was in the UK. She's lovely, and Aspergirls helped me to realise that I definitely have Asperger's. I got my family and my boyfriend to read it, and my boyfriend has also read 22 Things.

Aspergirls was awesome. The work Rudy did gathering common qualitative issues among a set of diagnosed women on the spectrum was groundbreaking and incredible. Truly, I was certain of my diagnosis after reading this, and it gave me the courage to pursue assessment.

Rudy has declared on her facebook that she wants to pursue other parts of her life, rather than just speaking and writing about being on the spectrum. She still does do talks, but she is performing her music more and making some really good youtube videos (search the Aspergirl Show). I don't know if this is a reaction to being released from the Psychology Today blog or if they took down her blog at Rudy's request. I do know that she is still active, just along different avenues.

I'm reading "Aspergirls" right now. Wow, this is an amazing book! It is very helpful, and so much fun to read. I've never read anything more relatable in my life. So many times during reading, I thought "Hey, this is me" or "I went through that too". There were a few things that didn't fit, but I expected that. It made me feel like I'm not alone anymore, and gave me hope. I highly recommend it!
