Hello! ^_^

Does anyone know which breads of make-up are best suited for sensitive individuals?
I am quite fond of dressing up and making myself look nice.
For myself, it acts like a shield between me and the rest of the world.

I have tried Maybellene, (forgive the spelling error, if there is one) Revlon and plain label brands but their mascara still burns, same goes for eye liner.

Do any of you wear make-up?
If so, can you recommend some which might not sting as much, not at all would be best! ^_^

Thanks!

I buy Lily Lolo pure mineral makeup because it feels comfortable on my face. It is fine powder that you build up in layers with a brush. I can't stand creme foundations because they make my face feel sticky.

Bare Minerals are a similar brand, but more expensive.

You might be able to find a local beauty salon that offers free mineral makeup consultations. That way you can find out how the makeup feels to wear and what colours suit your skin tone. Don't let them pressure you into buying anything. Say that you want to wear the makeup for a few hours to see how it feels, then if you like it you can decide to make a purchase. It might be cheaper to buy it online rather than from a salon.

My skin is pretty sensitive but I can tolerate Almay and Clinique. YMMV.

I use Origins http://www.origins.com/index.tmpl They are spendy, but they leave out all the harsh chemicals that I am sensitive to. I also use Burts Bees for lipstick. They have a lipstick/chapstick type product and it is mild and works well whenever I wear lipstick (which isn't often).

I agree, Burts Bees make really good products and they feel very nice on the skin.

MAC studio fix powder + is a great foundation, a bit pricey but one lasts me a year. it's what I use and I have very sensitive skin. I personally avoid mineral make up as I think it looks too yellow, it's just gimmicky and It breaks me out.

Best mascaras ever are made by Lancome but Clinique and Dior ones are good too. I don't use drugstore brands because they aren't as good (honestly) and don't last as long.

Tell us your skin type and I'll be able to advise you a bit better. :)

I like powder foundation -- there's a cheap all-natural one you can get online called Everyday Minerals. It's even gluten-free! Afterglow has nice stuff too, like mascara and whatnot. I have to get gluten-free makeup, because I have Celiac disease. You don't really feel powder on your face, if you know what I mean.

I like to wear mineral makeup. It feels like I'm not wearing any makeup. The one I wear is from a small company located in my state called Aromaleigh. I buy it online- http://www.aromaleigh.com/armifo.html I don't think they sell it in stores.

I like their Dewdrop mineral foundation which comes in very pale colors for light skin like mine. It's very affordable, but I always buy when it is on their weekly sale.

I'm allergic to parabens, so I've had to find alternatives to what I had been using. I've been using Lily Lolo for a couple of years and love it. There's a great range of foundation colours, so you should be able to find one to match your skin easily. I use the blusher, eye shadow and lipgloss as well. The price is really good too. For mascara, I recommend Beauty Without Cruelty.

I also wear mineral makeup (am using Bare Minerals at the moment). However, there are times that I find myself in a rush, (this regimen usually require four layers--a moisturizer, time to let it dry, the redness remedy layer for my rosacea, the makeup color, and the mineral veil to "lock it in". If I am rushed, or if my skin is really dry, I simply go with a tinted moisturizer (am using Garnier BB cream at the moment).

I would suggest that if you have found a moisturizer that works for you, look to see if that company makes a tinted moisturizer as well, and go from there, Also remember that one's skin changes with the seasons...during the warmer months, it tends to produce more oil to protect, during the winter, less so--adjust make-up accordingly. Best of luck, and have fun!

:D

If you absolutely need makeup,I think Korres is the best for liquid foundation. It is Greek and uses only natural ingredients, smells so good, really worth the money.I use Origins foundation once in a while too.My skin is clearing up a lot and I don't feel I need makeup to look good anymore, but a lot of people have said that to me.I do like NARS multiple stick in Malibu,it is the perfect dark berry for lips and can be used on cheeks as well.I never use mascara anymore,I tend to cry easily so it's just a waste and I haven't found a good natural one.I've heard great things about RMS products but haven't used them myself.

I'm uncertain as to what type of skin I have.
It was mentioned to me many years ago that I have combination skin.
A dry T-zone but oily otherwise.

I cannot stand foundation, a part from the fact that whenever I put it on I look like I just dived into a bag of doritos, it makes my face feel very heavy.
The make-up I'm after is mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner and a type of lipbalm.

I've heard Berts Bees is good.

I live in Idaho, USA and get my make-up at Sally Beauty Supply. It is called Palladio and I feel like I am not wearing any make-up, it does not leave my skin feeling oily and I don't get break outs. It is a little pricey but well worth it.

Sally's is a nation wide chain.
