A handsome guy who thinks he looks like the human version of shrek or jabba the hutt and is depressed about it all the time to the point he almost wants to kill himself?

OR

An ugly guy who thinks he's hotter, better and more important than brad pitt, george clooney, daniel craig and jude law combined and who thinks he can get any woman on earth?

The first is worst. The second attitude is awful no matter what the guy looks like, but it's hard emotionally for me to see someone struggling such as with the first.

It seems you are talking about two extremes. How about an ideal somewhere between these two polarities?

Somebody wanting to kill themselves is worse than somebody having an excess of self confidence.

I'll have to say the handsome guy with depression is worse. Personally, I don't see myself dating a suicidal person.

Worse for me for what? To date? To meet? To be around at work? To think about?

My brother is the first type of guy, though less extreme (he's not suicidal, or even depressed, just very self-conscious)

Personally i prefer his attitude over guys like the second example. Self-consciousness I can tolerate, but arrogance is insufferable.

The first guy has developed a serious mental health disorder due to his inability to accept the way he looks.. and probably over something deeper than that. Deep wounds never heal and they only drag those who love them down with them. Plastic surgery couldn't save this guy. He will suffer always.

Either the second guy has accepted his appearance and has learned to work his way around it - or - behaves in a way to make you believe so (could just be a cover up). I'd bet he suffers from depression as well because those who boast loudly are quite insecure themselves. Having said that, it doesn't appear he's at risk for suicide.

Which is worse? Guy #1 but by a hair line. They are both hurting and their hurt will be inflicted on others, some way, some how.

I knew a boy in middle school of the second category who would sexually assault girls who turned him down. I was one of his victims.

I kind of feel like I've been the female version of guy #1, so I'd say guy #2 is worse.
