And if so, what types of books? (eg, memoir, clinical handbooks such as Attwood, women's issues, general, etc). What kinds of issues are you interested in and what do you hope to gain from the reading experience?

Thanks!

I read clinical handbooks for specific examples of the diagnostic criteria.

I want to read those books about aspergers but they are impossible to find in here. When I go to the US I am going to buy them so I need indications not to regret it.
what books do you suggest?

I've read my share, but never found them helpful to me. I could relate to most of it, but a lot of the advice didn't feel as applicable for myself.

I have *really* enjoyed "Look Me in the Eye" and "Aspergirls." I'm hoping to also read "Pretending to be Normal" and some books by Temple Grandin. I am eating this stuff up. I had never read a book that described the way I understand things and it's exciting to me!

I've read some of the Temple Grandin books. Her interest & understanding of animals was what lead me to read them.
