Who else loves looking at vintage clothing on Etsy? I honestly could never buy them because I worry about quality, cleanliness and them getting ruined in the future. The vintage dresses are to darn cute for that!

I love browsing Etsy though. <3

Me! I love looking at vintage clothing and handbags on Etsy, and eBay also. I seldom buy anything on Etsy, most of it is too high priced. I have bought a lot of clothes off eBay but rarely any vintage clothing. One exception though was I found a really nice wool trench coat made by Youthcraft. Normally I don't like to take the risk of buying things like that on eBay, but I just had a feeling about it, and it turned out it fit me perfectly.

Lately I've been finding a lot of nice clothes at thrift stores, so that's kind of broken me of the habit of browsing eBay and Etsy all the time. I would rather buy in person when I know it will fit me. I find a lot of vintage pencil skirts and they fit me much better than modern ones. It's hard to find true vintage in thrift stores, at least in my area, but one store tends to have a lot more than others do. It's funny, they have a special section for trendy clothing, and I can't stand any of that stuff. I am always looking for the retro treasures.

I was looking at antique clothing on Etsy just the other night. I would probably never buy any of it but it's fascinating to look at how styles change in different eras. I wish I liked sewing, I'd make my own reproduction garments. I would love to be a costume designer for period films.

I have an Etsy shop and sell art there.

As for buying vintage, I just bought a dinner plate to replace one that broke due to a freak accident.

And as for vintage clothes, all I have to do is open one of my closets. :)

Vintage clothes in your closets, aye ? Mind posting a picture of those closets ? :D :D :D

I've been patiently waiting for a Royal Albert country roses tea-set / dinnerware to go on sale for a long time. Suffice it to say that it appears that I will have to continue waiting as those prices just don't seem to come down - not on Amazon, not on Overstock, not even on EBay. So, certainly not on Etsy, I would think (where wares are more expensive than almost anywhere else).

Well, HisMom,

The vintage clothes come from being small and having bought my clothes in larger sizes years ago because they're more comfortable that way. And the older clothes are holding up better than the newer ones which get holes in them a lot faster. Nothing fancy though really.

As for my replacement dish, it's a commonplace Made In Japan floral one that's not even my favorite color, so it's rather silly I'd get attached to a set like that, but my mother gave it to me when I moved out on my own. Now Royal Albert is pretty classy ... I think my grandma had a set. I hope you come across exactly what you're looking for at just the right price!

Thank you. I've been coveting one for close to a decade now, and still no closer to owning one 10 years on - those damned prices just seem to keep defying gravity

As silly as it sounds, there's nothing I'd love more than to host a tea party with a Royal Albert.

Oh, aye.

My ideal tea party menu would comprise Sri Lankan tea, tea cakes, hot cross buns, delicate cucumber sandwiches, chocolate biscuits, jam tarts with cream -- and if you still haven't had your sweet tooth fix -- yummy scones, served on these :

Love vintage clothes shopping online although its risky not trying stuff on first its easier that real world shopping. I do end up with some clothes that aren't as good as I thought or that don't look good on me but I accept that as quirk of online shopping. You get to know what suits you and you find reliable seelers. Buying online is good because there is a double buzz. You get the excitement of buying and then the delivery. Its awesome.

Even as a dude, I love looking at Etsy. I only have a remote sense of fashion when it comes to women's fashion, so sometimes I look for clothes for my sister. She really loves Skirts, Bell Bottom/Flare jeans, and novelty socks and T-shirts. I on the other hand usually wear jeans and T-shirts, but I wanna try dressing more fancy-like. Perhaps trying to wear a sports coat with dark denim jeans. I also wanna try a "big manly lumberjack" look, possibly with flannel and dark blue jeans. I usually have my sister help me pick out my clothes because she knows a lot more about men's clothes that would look good on me than I do.

I have recently developed a habit of looking at old buttons because of a shirt I have been making, started out looking for the perfect buttons. Now I find that I look up buttons on Etsy. Also glass pendants. I love glass pendants with knobs and shapes and depth to look at. It's a stim thing. There are also a lot of glass octopus pendants too that I look at.

@ HisMom: Here is a list of organic clothing websites (among others).

(I'm one of the ones that can't post links; so, just put a period where it says dot, and remove all the spaces.)
