I'm having an issue with sweating. I feel like I have tried just about everything. Throughout the day, I sweat A LOT. It has gotten to the point where I am re-applying prescription strength deodorant multiple times a day and I have to change my shirt at least once during the day due to it being smelly. I regularly wear perfume too to try to mask the odor, but nothing seems to help and I still feel like I smell bad. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Part of it I think may come from my hair too. I have really greasy hair, despite washing it regularly. If anybody has any suggestions about that too, that would be great :)

(I hope this is in the right topic, if not, please move it :) )

There are 24-hour deodorants on the market.

One of them is Degree. I would use the one that's for men.

I put that one, and it lasts me three days.

I'm sorry you're going through this.

I hope others will offer better suggestions than mine.

I wonder who decides how much is "too much". I've always sweat profusely, but it never seemed to be a problem. In all likelihood, I inherited this trait from my father, and this helped me feel this way, as he always presented it in a good light. It seemed to keep his skin from building up toxins and to make up for kidney problems he had. Physical as well as mental quirks never seem to be flaws when he has them, but, on the other hand, this doesn't guarantee that they won't become flaws, and often serious ones, as soon as I'm the one showing them.

My sweating, which hasn't perceptibly increased, suddenly began to be described as a serious problem when a certain person from my pseudo-job decided it is one. As usual, my parents show no signs of remembering their former indifference. I do need to carry a second shirt there every day with me, because I know the one I'm wearing will be drenched by the time I arrive. On the bright side, I've stopped worrying about not exerting myself too much along the way, because it's no use, so now I do the opposite and squeeze as much exercise out of it as I can.

Thank you for the suggestions. I think I'll try a men's deodorant. All the ones I have (and I have quite a collection) are women's and supposedly work for 48 hours, but I'm lucky if I get 5.

I have similar issues with sweating a lot, to the point I need to change my shirt multiple times a day sometimes...and most deodorant seems like a waste of time. But the following, seems to work pretty good provided I don't let my arm-pits get all sweaty before applying it. Also its not like that gloopy gel deodarant, or that residue leaving powdery kind.

Says unscented, but it actually does have a nice smell...I guess they just didn't add anything specifically for smell but you can smell some of the natural ingredients.

Before I got this I was thinking of trying mens deodorant, but i think this one is more gender neutral.

If you also have pain in your extremities, it can be connected with peripheral neuropathy, see

http://www.healthline.com/health/periph ... #Symptoms2

I had no idea these things might be connected. Basically, the reason for it is an untreated autoimmune disease that leads to nerve damage - and this can also damage the nerves controlling sweating.

You might want to take some supplements, since the excessive sweating can use up too much of certain minerals.

Of course, your sweating may have an entirely different reason.

Well you may enjoy feeling clammy and having wet clothes all day, but I don't.

When you walk to the bus in the morning and by the time you get there you are wet with sweat and your day hasn't even begun yet and you have to suffer wet clothes all day, then that is too much sweating.

If you feel like you need another shower after you've just had a shower and started sweating again while you were drying your hair and you do need to wash and dry yourself again because you don't want to put clean clothes on over a sweaty body, that is too much sweating.

If you go on holiday and can't dry yourself after a shower and you try and apply sunscreen, but it's so hot that you are sweating constantly even with the aircon on in the hotel room and you can't get the sunscreen to take because you are so sweaty and then you get sunburn, then that is too much sweating.

I use Dove or Sure 48 hour antiperspirant which works for my underarms. But I still get back sweat and chest sweat.

I know someone who is so bad that they get their armpits botoxed.

Thank you all for replying. I found the deodorant pictured at Walmart and am giving it a try today. So far, so good :) The colder months are coming too, so I hope that helps me.

Thanks again!
