I’m getting pains in my breasts, the pains come & go, it like a stinging feeling. Do women get pains cuz of their periods?

Yes. It's hormones. Breasts get engorged and sensitive.

You should get a mammogram every so often as a routine. Especially if you’re past 40.

My breasts used to hurt really bad right before and during that time of the month. Taking Advil and wearing a soft but supportive sports bra helped me.

It also wouldn’t hurt to talk to a gynecologist about it.

If you are dealing with too much discomfort, you might want to consider a hormonal birth control option. I’m on Mirena and don’t have any pain like that anymore.

Yeah, hormones cause them.

I sometimes will get a sharp pain in my breasts when my pectoral muscles are too tight also.

Might be cysts. Usually caused by too much estrogen vs. progesterone. Is your cycle regular? Are you ovulating every month? Is your period heavy? If you just started some birth control pills they can cause breast pain, too. You can ask your doctor to get your hormones checked. If the progesterone is too low he can give you a supplement.

As well as estrogen dominance it can also be caused by iodine deficiency. Simple solution - eat seaweed.

I've tried all sorts for the breast pain. I was taking ciltralopram which helped, but made me spot between the end of my period and ovulation. You can't win. I'm off that now and back to breast pain.

Seaweed is something I haven't tried. I'll give it a go.
