hysterectomy?
I went in Sunday to have my baby, I was overdue so they were going to induce. After drawing blood they say my pattasium was very low, so decided to try to raise it before they did anything. Over the next few days it didn't raise, they tried IVs then suppliments, and it started to go up very slowly. Wednesday it finally got up to accewptable levels and they immediatly got me to induce, but the baby went into distress, the imbilicle cord was above the head and cut off blood. They stopped the induction and decided to do an emergency c-section. The baby was delivered, but I started to hemorage, they gave two units of blood, and went to my ask husband to do the hysterectomy so I wouldn't bleed to death.
My mom says they malpracticed and should have sent me to a larger hospital ((this was just a small town one)) when my pottasium didn't raise before they induced. I just don't know. I don't think it's hit me yet, I'm kinda numb.

Goche21,
I wanted to reply to your story, because I know the numb feeling. I didn't have any more children after my first child, either, and it would have been so much better if I had had a hysterectomy rather than miscarriage after miscarriage and losing hope after hope. At least this way you know and can make other plans. Lots of babies already in the world for moms to love them.
sending you virtual snuggles and hugs, the kind that don't bug ya.
Merle
