Does anyone else here absolutely detest going to the mall? I go just for the Starbucks and Borders that are directly across the street ;^).

All those preppy stores INSIDE the mall are for NTs...lol. In my opinion anyway. Thats just the way i see it.

I don't like going to the mall because of who I see going to the mall.

I see gangs. And people who turn their noses up at other people. AND the food court smells like ASS. All over a bunch of garbage I'd rather buy at a specialty store. All those people. All those germs.

There ARE malls I like to go to, though. They are usually clean and in nicer neighborhoods.

I hate going to the mall, I nearly fainted once!
Too much noise, too much people and bad music.
And I hate the vidoe camras they make me freak out!

i really dont see point in malls, too many nt's, overpriced items, sometimes bad things happen, and why bother wasting gas going when you can buy the same item from comfort of home ONLINE?

I hate going to the mall. They sell mainstream stuff that appeals to NTs. Youths hang out in groups, there. The washrooms are spaced too far apart, for my liking. They also don't sell Routemasters in the Toys R Us in the mall that I make a point of going to, once every two months, at the most, being that I'm in Canada.

Most shops in a mall do not interest me, but one thing I do like about ours is the spaciousness... it is nice to walk in all that space when it is quiet. I sometimes go there to just sit down and watch. I am lucky in that there are a few interesting shops there, including this discovery shop that sells all sorts of interesting instruments from other countries and telescopes and such things. The bookstore is always of interest to me, of course, and I sometimes sit and have a coffee. But when it is too crowded I avoid it as I get overwhelmed and angry with that much noise and jostling. I remember over xmas, my mother took me to a large store in London when the sales had started, and it was so crowded people were touching, nudging pushing etc to get the clothes... like a bloody cattle market, and I lost sight of her at one point and ended up finding a corner and bursting into tears...at my age, 31. She told me to grow up.

I like the mall for about 20-30 minutes, but then I start to suffer. There is too much noise, light, too many people, and materialistic consumerism depresses me a lot.

I love it except when kids are all over the place. I curse the person who made those damn skate shoes. Borders, movie theater, and ton of good restaurants in the same spot. People are predictable, once you start going to the mall enough it's easy to avoid crowds.

Yah! I only go on weekday mornings, when it is pretty deserted. And I only go as a treat to my NT daughter -- it's more of a girl's day out kind of thing for us than serious shopping or whatever else NT's do there. Never in December!

I hate malls, the ones with clothes, at least its inside in the Warm, it has Doctor Who things, I prefer Forbidden planet because I saw a Doctor Who T-Shirt with David Tennant and game shops.

Cool, another Doctor Who fan... I must say though, that I prefer the classic series to the new one. The new one is watchable, but I suppose when you grow up with the older series, it tends to stick as a nostalgic favourite. Forbidden planet it a great shop. Got one here in Soton. I always found the London branch I went to far too poorly organised...crowded.

Lolz...I'm NT and I hate shopping. Scarred for life from being dragged around for hours on end looking at stupid clothes and god-knows-what for hours and hours on end! I go there when I need to buy new clothes, but it's always a swift and decisive trip. Why browse for hours looking at stuff you don't want to buy? I think it's more a preppy thing than an NT thing, not everyone enjoys mindless staring or money-spending when there are better things to do with your time...hurr...

I think my guy is pretty happy with things like they are...I've only dragged him there once, and that was for Christmas shopping...paaaainful

However...I would LOVE to go on a shopping trip to buy stuff for him - spoil him rotten... :D

I don't hate it as much as I used to. An hour or 2 is my limit. 15min during the xmas season. I hate shopping for myself, but I enjoy shopping for my kids. I especially like feeling all the different fabrics.

Yeah, you've got it right, there. An hour or two is my limit, too.

How can anyone stand being in a place like that for MORE than an hour or two???
