I am wondering.. me and my boyfriend want to have a baby, We,ve tried for a long time now. If the doc knew about ours asperger would he still help us. I´ve been taking pills to help us, and if nothing happens we need to do more (sorry I don´t have an english - Islensk word book  )

And one more thing, will my baby be an aspie???
(I´ve decide to take the chance bc I know the baby will be the best in ours eyes)

No way of knowing if the baby will be an aspie. Odds are higher than for NT parents, of course, but it isn't certain. Any doctor that wouldn't help you on the pure basis of AS isn't much of a doctor and you would want to find another. There are always other doctors.

This doctor is really nice to us. I was just wondering he wouldn´t help us if he knew all about us. My boyfriend is very likely an aspie too

I dont know if this is scientificly proven, but there seems to be some indication that two aspies are more likely to give birth to a low functioning autistic as another aspie. I believe this was based on the Silicon Valley phenomina. If you want more information about this you can google Wired magazine. I think the article came out a few years ago. I'm NOT trying to discourage you from having a child or devalueing LFA's but think you should be as informed as possible when making any decission.

I worked with a LFA in a group home and he seemed pretty happy and I loved being around him. I think he radiated the same kind of love I feel when around animals(that is something I could never explain to NT's because they thought I was insulting him by comparing him to animals but I PREFER animals and they feed my soul as much as people suck it dry.) You could also end up having an NT child, which would probably be more traumatic for me personaly as I don't seem to understand or get along with MOST NT's...maybe it would be different if it was my own child but it still scares me to consider. If anyone can raise an aspie kid it seems it would be another aspie who can at least epathisize with their experiences?

There are also times when the aspie parent goes aspie on the aspie kid, the aspie kid isn't mature enough to know that, and small things go kablooie as a result. It happens with my and my son sometimes.

There is a neat package from fertell that is for COUPLES! I don't know how well the female test works. It is a test that simply tests 2 of the most common reasons for women to not conceive. It checks FSH which can be a problem, and THAT won't occur unless you are SOMEWHAT healthy and have the proper hormone balance, another popular problem.

MOST male tests work EXACTLY like the female test, which doesn't really prove much. SOME stain the sperm, which proves little else. The FERTELL test claims to do what would be almost the ULTIMATE in proof! It actually claims to act like a vagina, and causes the sperm to be stained and attracted to a target. If you see the stain, it means enough sperm made it! That tests that there are enough, and they can swim. That means they are probably fertile, etc....

Anyway, I bring that up because you and your boyfriend might want to make sure you both have a good chance, etc.... It costs like $60-$70 for BOTH of you together, which is cheaper than one of you going to the doctor. If YOU have a problem, you could take fertility drugs. If HE has a problem, he can try to stay cooler, take vitamins, or maybe eurocoma, depending on what his problem is.
