I get so moody! I snap so badly, and it lasts for 3 days after I get my period. I also have a bloaty stomach, and I get so tired. I don't understand it, my period is more mild then my PMS! Is this normal?

I dont know what normal is because I have had few female friends to compare such things...but it is normal for me.It is always bad before my period but I am actually relieved once I start bleeding. (Other then I hate the physical yuk factor of bleeding and the cramps can be bad for a few days.

I have seen other aspie females writing that many of their "sensitivities" get more intense during the "pre" phase and I wonder how hormones effect this because I have read that many pregnant women become more sensitive to smells and stuff. I would be interested in reading more research on this but until they start believing that more then 1 in 4 people with AS are female...I doubt they are going to bother with much research about us.

There is no normal, per se, when it comes to your period - just normal for you. Of course, I'm not talking about when things are seriously amiss, just in general. Myself, I am a Mega b***h (and/or prone to meltdowns) the day before my period. After that, I'm fine. The bloating stuff is normal for almost everyone (ever see the myriad of PMS relief pills that claim to relieve bloating?).

Okay, that's good that the bloating's normal :D
I might find some PMS pills, as I just can't handle school when I'm in PMS horrid mode.

Yeah, but you don't have cute undies like I do (love my matching ladybug bra and undies - they cheer me up when I have my period)

I got it if anybody's wondering. I'm still depressed and irriable though.

Yes, that's normal. PMS stands for PREmentstrual syndrome, which means it effects you before you start to menstruate. It's actually these hormone fluctuations that cause you to have a period in the first place, and this also makes you tired/sore/bloated, etc.
I always feel healthiest right when it ends, so that's something to look forward to, at least.

Sometimes I seem to get a hormonal mood swing After my period..It lasts for about a day. I call it Post Menstrual syndrome...having done a bit of web research, it seems I am not alone.

I don't think I experience PMS at all. There have been a few times when guys have accused me of "PMSing" but it was always at the wrong time in my cycle - a week after my period, for example. Some people just like to throw around the "PMS" accusation in order to get out of an argument they started. It's silly.

I'm the same way. PMS is torture for me, so I'm always relieved when I start bleeding.

a week before i get my period i get seriously depressed and manic, during, i'm sane, then the week after a bit insane, then the cycle starts all over again. so during the period even if it's a hassle i welcome the calmness
