A few minutes ago, I was on facebook and looking at a cousin's status which her sister had commented on. She was talking to her sister about coming home and I replied to her calling her half of her name and calling Japan by it's Japanese name. I also said that I was glad that she got the summer off since I was studying all summer long.

She replied back by telling me what her full name was and then being a snott about Japan.

I replied, "Ok, sorry."

I mean, my cousins on my father's side are so extremely snotty that it's just not even funny. I mean, this girl is 17 and acts like she is hot stuff because her family buys her all the things that she wants. She gets her attitude from her mother and acts as if she is so much better than everyone else. However, I get along better with her older sister who is 20 and we have always gotten along.

What does anyone think about her attitude?

I think you've got her pegged. She's only 17 and may grow up someday. Until then, write her off. I have snotty cousins myself, and I haven't seen them for as long as you've been alive. It's just not worth the hassle.

I mean, she hasn't seen me in 6 years and treats me like she's better than I am.

My sister-in-law on my husband's side is the same age as me (26) and she behaves like a spoiled 13 year old. Her mother had tons of torubles with her.

I'm 48 years old and my same-age cousins are still snotty but this time with their teen-aged kids involved. My 20 year old son is back from Iraq and do you know what his first cousin said to him. (This guy doesn't even hold a job and is always hopped up on dope...because my damned cousin is sitting on a whole big pile of dirty money that her criminal ex-husband left her in his will). He said, "You're such a jerk to go and fight for this stupid country." My sons told him to leave...NOW! He went. This chick might grow up a little bit but always remember, "A leopard never changes its spots". Keep your guard up! 8)

If you mean the adjective of snob it is ‘snooty’

Snotty is pronounced like snot as in mucus. Although I see it can also mean arrogant.

I have a neice like this. Just remember, we may not be able to pick our relatives, but we can certainly pick the ones with which we choose to associate. Take note and move on. She's not worth the time or bother.

Regards,

Patricia
