This is probably going to sound stupid but I am curious if any aspie women here carry a purse with them like any typical woman.

I carry a purse.

I usually do. I prefer a knitted shopping bag that I have, though. I take it shopping to save plastic bags. Sometimes I just use my pockets, but that's more of a winter habit.

I am a wallet person, however due to a medical condition I have to carry 2 shots around with me and had to get a medium sized purse. I opted for a "book bag" style, so I can carry it on my back. I had to get one tall enough to accommodate the shots, and my child has the same condition so I get to carry a shot around for him as well when I go out with him. I am also able to shove a change of pants (thin pajama type and 2 diapers in it for the baby so I don't have to carry a diaper bag as well.)

What's in your purse topic?

I remember years ago it was called a handbag. I think in the US many called it a pocketbook, though I could not understand the terminology. This sounded more like a paperback novel. :?

But I do carry a purse--another odd term for a satchel. Sometimes I wear a fanny pack--but I wear the pouch around the front, expecially if I am working and need to keep my valuables with me.

A purse is a catch all. Everything goes into it. I tell people it is like my luggage!! It is a black polyurethane zippered thing with a nylon shoulder strap. I have had the same one for years. I use a purse until it gets worn out (the insides get ripped).

My family on the East coast calls it a pocketbook. I've never heard anyone out West here call it that.

On topic: I used to absoutely hate and refuse to carry a purse! It feels so restricting and I hate having to worry about it and remember to not leave it places. I do carry one now out of necessity and I suppose I've gotten used to it. I do greatly prefer being free, though!

I like having my hands free, and having to hunch one shoulder up doesn't appeal to me either, so I use some combination of a backpack, pockets, and a small bag with a long strap that goes across my body diagonally.

I carry around a gigantic Marry Poppins bag to keep everything I need just in case I'm kidnapped or put in a situation where I won't make it home.

I am more prone to carrying a backpack around...or multiple tote bags for different things..

My current purse is a gas mask bag given to me by my friend who collects army surplus. It is kinda heavy, and i have to be careful to make sure it stays closed, but it is neat and has lots of interesting pockets.

I carry a purse, but it's not like a hand bag, more a wallet with a zip on it. A change purse I think it's called. I used to have a wallet but the chain broken off it.

I use a backpack purse and I love it. The zipper is half broken but I can't find a replacement bag. It's a black leather backpack with plenty of room for my stuff.

Nah. I would loose my arse if it was not tied to me. I have not owned one since I was twelve.

I only carry a purse because my mom makes me, otherwise I wouldn't.

I used to carry one but for obvious reasons I finally switched over to a backpack but I don't meet as many guys as I used to.

No. I feel awkward because I don't really know how to hold it.

I carry a wallet in my pocket. If I have to carry a purse, its tiny, and has a shoulder strap, I hate having something weight me down! It's uncomfortable and annoying.
