i've been using "the patch" and condoms and my boyfriend pulls out before he cums, but i seem to have a couple of the early symptoms of pregnancy. i'm getting so scared...

Make an appointment with your local Planned Parenthood Agency in your community. They are there to help young females like yourself and can
better advise you on avoiding pregnancy at 17.

if still nervous and don't want to go to a place and spend alot of money yet, try going to a pharmacy and getting E.P.T pregnancy test, its simply one of them testing kits that costs about 30 or less dollars, all you do is basically pee on the strip and wait a few minute to see if it says pregnant or not pregnant.

may save time and may end nervousness and less money spent at planned parenthood for the test to see if you are pregnant.

about the patch and other contraceptives, not all are 100% effective just be careful.

I understand your anxiety! and I agree with DoorDoctor. Pee on the stick, and don't get a cheap one.

I recommend you let your boyfriend know that he might become a father. He will freak out at first, might push for an abor., but if you decide to have the baby he will come to terms with it. You could also let your parents know. They will freak out at first too. But there is nothing wrong with it. It's normal to have sex and statistically 50% of all children are unplanned. Even 45 year old women have unplanned children, so it's not anyone's fault - just nature.

P.S. planned parenthood or your primary care doctor can counsel you much better. But, how are your and your boyfriend's parents financially? If you do have a baby, you'll survive it. First year, you breastfeed. Second year, if your or your boyfriend's parents can babysit, then you can get a job (any job will do as long as you get to get out of the house, we at WP can guide you through making a resume, interviewing, etc), and if your boyfriend lives up to his responsibilities as a father, he could baby sit, too. You'd have to pool your family resources, kiss up to your parents, live with them and so on.

L2S, I think you're getting way ahead of yourself right now.

hoping, I agree with the advice of others given here - purchase an EPT or other pregnancy test (quality) and find out, and locate where the nearest Planned Parenthood or other agency in your area. Take care of yourself; you might want his support when you do the test, or you might want to do it yourself. If you are pregnant, then it becomes imperative to discuss with the boyfriend immediately; if not, I still think it is important to discuss the possibility, but it makes it a less imperative issue.

What are the symptoms you're having? If it is just a missed period, it may be normal; most if not all women will have at least one irregular cycle in there lives before they're 25. An irregular cycle can be due to stress or just a hormone fluctuation due to a change in diet.

I'd say get a quality preggy test and go to Planned Parenthood, just to be on the safe side; though I'd say that you are already doing a good job at protecting yourself against STDs and pregnancy.

Good luck!

It's great that your parents are nice about it. Supportive parents are important.

Let us know how things turn out.

It was a false alarm. She is fine. She is gone from the forum now, I think.

no, she said it was a false alarm a couple of days ago. i was just saying that it is a relief that her folks did not freak out on her, but are supportive like parents should be. i was hoping for the best, but i was not talking about the pregnancy test because that issue was already resolved. i mean there are always other issues in this kind of situation.

where did she say it was a false alarm? I am sorry, but I have read all of her posts and there has been no resolution that she has posted on WP. I am just a literal Aspie trying to make all the pieces fit.
