I wish you all loads and loads of happiness and fulfillment. It's as much there for you as it is for anyone else.

Coward. Hypocrite. You run away in self pity and surrender while accusing others of the same. Come back and face me, your better, if you dare human. Otherwise, good riddance from your mindless prattle.

I came, I saw, I pouted and stomped out of the room.

He can't be serious......

This place has really helped me and my son.

I go to a scrapbook forum, and it's way more political and depressing than here...

The only thing that I remember Jazzguy for was that semi-rant he did about how all us "self-diagnosed" aspies couldn't have AS.

Funny that someone who leaves because we're all so negative, always seemed so negative about the other members.

Sometimes it does seem overwhelming and glum. But When I'm troubled and need to see I'm not alone I come back . Althougth lately I tend to prefer AS diaries on You Tube.

This attitude is also why I don't want to try to go back to the local AS meeting. I went once and my level of functioning was so far removed I felt totally out of place.

No sarcasam here, but is it really a good idea to go to an AS group? I'm not going to learn better people skills from them and it will most likely depress me if I'm not already.

Please feel free to PM me with your view if you want.

actually, it maybe needs it's own thread! I agree about going to my local AS group. I see people my age (in my late 50's) accompanied by their parents. I listen to people there complain about homosexuals, women that kill their children (abortion) and how Iraq attacked the World Trade Building on 9/11. I have nothing but AS in common with those people, and my level of functioning was also far removed, or maybe it wasn't - as I just stood up and walked out. Typical Aspie behaviour, I am certain.

Shame, I was looking forward to some adult conversation with him!

Life is what you make it and if you look for the negative all the time that is what you will find.

It can be hard to find the positive, especially today for some reason, but it will be there somewhere.

Though still a newbie here, I have found it to be far more positive than negative in its approach.

There is a flippant side but that is needed in the serious world in which we live.

The thing is we are all different, we may have some of the same traits, but we are all individuals in our selves, different personalities, different circumstances and each effected differently. Diagnosed, undiagnosed or NT's and we will never get on with everyone.

The group thing to me, has never interested me - hating small talk, which I find pointless at times and feeling awkward in new situations, can not think of anything worse. Do not get me wrong, I really do love talking to people, but find easier on a one to one basis, or forums where I can pick and choose...

So groups are not for all of us, the same as some forums... but does it really matter, quite simply if you do not like something, do not do it.

There are plenty of threads that aren't negative. What are we supposed to do- put on a big fake smile and pretend we're fine? No thanks, most of us have to do that all the time. This is the one place where people can vent and others actually understand why. So there is a lot of talk here about NT society making life difficult for us. I think we're entitled to complain.

In most of those "negative" threads, there is also a lot of good advice and support.

Furthermore, why announce you're leaving at place you dislike? If I don't like a message board, I just disappear one day. Seems like a ploy to get attention. How petty.
