Who else finds themselves asking this question more often than any other? I drive people crazy asking why about their emotions, beliefs, actions, etc.

I have a life-long obsession with human behavior, trying to understand from childhood why people do what they do. I don't often ask aloud, though.

Don't stop asking, but observe. Even if you keep asking the questions, what you see will tell you more, I think, than any answer they may give.

:O whoa I'm the exact same way, I never thought about it like that but I'm very obsessed with human behaviour. I always watch people and am fascinated by the things they do and the reasons behind it.

my daughter does it looooads though she isnt an aspie as far as I know and I know it is normal for kids that age

but I think maybe the difference maybe is that for her it stops being a genuine question and more a habit. I try to question her meaning rather than have her tone it down.. cos like I see it as very positive to be interested and have enthusiasm of thought.. though a proportion it seems and she feels is just from habit or making that noise at the end of certain tones of sentences ppl say.

like I can imagine that aspies do it and have a genuine question when they say "Why" but NTs think they are doing it the same as kids do and kids can do it mindlessly at times

I'm like this too. I'm also the person who ruins others' stories, because after a punchline like, "So I spilled my Pepsi all over him!" I'll say, "Yeah? So then what happened?" because I always want to know people's reactions, etc. It can go on forever...
