As a teenager, I used to be a great Jules Verne fan. Looking back on it, I can now see that all his books are full of autistic characters!

Dr. House.

They used asperger once in an episode, and also explained why he doesn't have Asperger's but that didn't make much sense -.-

Already been said two or three times.

Actually, it's kind of implied that he's been diagnosed by the end of the episode, because he gets what he wants at the end.

I think House is DEFINATELY Aspie and Cuddy's explanation against was that he was just a jerk! That is hardly going to stand in court!

Adrian Monk is so much like me (I am a Tourettic Aspie with severe OCD) that I cried the first time I watched it! His brother Ambrose is also extremely fitting in the AS diagnosis, possibly autism because he has obvious problems with social interaction, although one could argue that this is because he hasn't left the house for a number of years. Adrian definitely has AS because he does lots of little stimming things (flicking his fingers against his legs, I do that too!) and he needs cue cards to have a conversation with a woman! I could list a million things about him, but I haven't the time!

Steve Leopard from the Darren Shan books. He was obsessed with vampires and monsters as a child, then with hunting down his enemies, to the exclusion of all else. Described by one of his teachers as an 'idiot savant' & gained his nickname from having a wild temper as a kid until he went into therapy (maybe that's more ADHD than AS though). Also had few close friends.

Wednesday Addams- I loved her in the Thanksgiving play from the movie.. :D

Also, Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. The former because she's on another planet half the time and doesn't realise she's being made fun of. Also her speech is very to-the-point. Hermione because she's so logical.

Hermione does not seem to have much problems with contact. See also sees social situations quite cleare. Luna is a could candidate.

I saw Spirited Away a couple of times. Shihiro (or Sen) looks young, but the problem could also be autistic. She is rather clumsy, is distracted easily when in a new environment. Shihiro is afraid of breaking rules and is really honest. Shihiro does not seem to make friends easily and tries to prove herself by doing a job. But since she is never in a situation with other children, it is a bit difficult to judge.

I'm gonna get brutally mauled for this but...

Data from Star Trek TNG sounds like HFA to me.

Also, Tails from the Sonic series is more AS than people know. Watch some cutscenes from SA2 and you'll see what I mean.

You want brutal mauling, I have an even better one:

Billy Cranston, the original (western) Blue Ranger, from the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.

...incidentally, my obsession is obsolete television shows... Although I watch current ones as well...

Doctor Impossible from "Soon I Will Be Invincible". He's the smartest man in the world, and IQ over 300, and he suffers from Malign Hypercognition Syndrome, a/k/a Evil Genius Disease. If you like superheroes, it's a very fun read. Doctor Impossible against his nemesis, the hero Corefire, who he created in a science lab accident. Classic stuff, and about half of it told from the point of view of the evil genius. Still he doesn't come across as a psychopath or sociopath, more like he wants to be accepted and can NEVER fit in.... sounded familiar somehow.

Did anybody say The Tin Man from Wizard of Oz?

OR The female Vulcan from the newer Star Trek series? Jolene Blalock (Sub-Commander T-Pol)

Nearly all of the goofy Jerry Lewis characters.
