Well I certainly dont think it is weird but I used to build RC cars and race them, even building and maintaining the winning car in the neghbooring town when I was 13 going against guys much older and far more experienced.

Now my hobbies are using my GPS to plot points, then putting all that data onto a sat photo of the area to give an airial map of where I was.

Currently since I have been far more lazy this year then ever before, I stay at home alot more and am here on WP half the time I sit at home. When I have some spair time I do like to read up on how to put out oil well fires, me and my dad discused that a very long time ago because he is a nuclear engineer and is facinated with anything when it comes to engineering, he even told me what would likly be the way nations would put out the Kuwait oil fires after desert storm when I asked him how it would be possible to put out such fires, I have since re-kindled my childhood obsession with that event and have learned of many other ways my dad never even though of that worked back then.

I collect kaleidoscopes. Particularly, the kind that are hand-crafted by a kaleidoscope artist. Not the cheap plastic or cardboard ones for ages 3 and up in packages that say, "Warning, contains small parts". In my life, I've only ever met one other person who had that hobby.

My teddy bear/binky/blanky/dolly ect has evolved into a small pouch of sentimental world coins.

I would collect things; from books on my favourite subjects, to toys to random and useless facts and trivia.

I read a lot. I have two and a half bookcases full of books, not counting the stacks of books on the floor.

I have large rooms with their walls covered in books and some in boxes in our 1200 sq ft shed. Last count was over 2000 books in the house, itself, and that was after a large sell-off, shortly beforehand. And I have a lot more sitting on roll-around metal shelves that I bought at costco and for which I haven't yet built more shelves. Folks have expressed a worry that the top floor might fall into the lower floor from the sheer weight of the books and shelving. ;) But on the positive side, I've gotten good at making book shelves. :)

I don't know how strange it is, but I really like Chinatown in San Francisco. I collect vintage tourist tchachkes and prints/postcards from Chinatown. My other collections are more typical. I have a bunch of vintage ceramic dog figurines and lots of pictures of dogs on my walls. I like Chinese paintings too (mostly flowers and birds). It's really hard to find Chinese (watercolor/ink) paintings of dogs. I have one print of an antique Chinese painting of a dog... I bought it in Chinatown. :D

I write a lot of fanfiction. Depends on what my fixation is and I'll probably write in that fandom.

Like right now I'm into Transformers slash. *giggles*

I have a kangaroo collection. Weird thing is, I've never even been to Australia! It's hard to find anything having to do with kangaroos in Indiana, but they're around! From June to now, I have eighteen kangaroos. 8)

Lot of those hobbies don't seem strange. They seem normal.

I like to watch Benny & Joon about everyday, I like Spokane because of that movie and I want to see other movies that were filmed there too. I like to eat at Ferguson's every time I'm in Spokane because it's where they filmed Benny & Joon and I like to visit all the locations that were in the movie, I also like to collect movie stuff on it. So far I have the movie poster and the movie script.

I've never watched it, but I'm going to soon. Thanks for mentioning the movie and getting me to look it up. I see a quote: "Aside from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal." Anyway, it's on my list now and we should get it in a few weeks, I think. I'm sure our family will enjoy it.
