I do like thunderstorms - so long as they aren't severe - I love to stand on my porch and watch the lightening . . . sometimes too much - we had a tornado producing storm at the beginning of June and I knew about it because I love to listen to my weather radio - but when it came up I put all my animals into an interior closet and sat out on the porch to watch it come in - well, there was so much lightening that I was about hypnotised and didn't end up going into the closet myself until we got 75mph winds - that sort of woke me up . . . 8O

I love the smell of rain too, I find it to be one of the most soothing aromas for me. I also am madly in love with lightning, and have been trying to capture bolts on film. How ever up here in wisconsin, the atmoshpere, terrain, and the types of storms we get mean that oppourtunites are few and far between. Lightning watching can also be hazardous for your health, on labor day 2002, I was watching a storm come in when lightning stuck 100 feet away and knocked me to the ground!

I, too, love the smell of rain. People think I am weird for sitting outside during rain showers (I like it though).

I love lying down and feeling the rain and the electric atmosphere. I used to just lie down in the rain for hours and people thought I was strange. I was. Still am.

Better to lie in the rain than fry in the sun without protection!

I like the sounds of nature.

I completely agree. I love the smell and the sound of rain. I like to close my eyes when it is raining, and just listen to the sound of raindrops encompass the world. The cool smell of rain in the woods or on the grass is my favorite smell, I prefer it to the stronger scents of flowers that many other people seem to love best.

I also like the sounds of nature, listening to the wind rustle the leaves of the trees, water lapping against the shore, the sound of silence that is produced when the ground is layered with snow. I love snow, too- it's beautiful and soft, and it feels like I'm wearing earmuffs because it seems to absorb all sound.

Yes...I find the rain very comforting...The smell, sound...everything. When I'm having a bad day, I always wish it would rain. I love the booms of the thunder rolling overhead, mixed with the heavy pounding of the water against the street and into the many puddles lying about. I sit out on my balcony when it rains....and I even sleep out there if it rains during the night....but, I have a habit of waking up in puddles the next morning. I love the sounds of the sea as well...

I love the smell of rain and can smell when it is about to rain. Rain on the roof is very soothing and so is the sound of the sea. I wish we would get more storms here - we used to have lots more when I was a child.

8O O, MFG, I love thunderstorms. Black-green sky, ear-splitting thunderclaps, retina-searing lightning, cool wind, warm-chilly rain with the scent of ozone rising off of grass/pavement = exhilarating. *Bounce* :D
