I have a question for those Auspies who play online games , specifically SecondLife.

How attached do you get to your character? Is it "just a game" or do you feel have the same problems there as you do in your real life?

I used to play world of warcraft WAY WAY WAY too much, like 10-24 hours a day, everyday. I think the main reason i played so much was because i DON'T have the same problems in games as i do in real life. Without having to worry about non-verbal stuff i can actually communicate with some proficiency. It turns out that fitting in is pretty addictive. :?

I didn't really get into it until I got a few dance scripts.
I was amazed how much I had invested into my 'avatar' when I felt the freedom of dancing well.
I can dance, but never 'well'.

I got bored playing Second Life for only 15 minutes.

Took two hours to download it, install and uninstall it just to play it for 15 minutes.

Meh...
