I generally don't watch horror movies anymore due my sensitivities. That and I find most horror movies to quite stupid and unsatisfying.

Is it true that people with AS don't react to the same stimuli to senses that cause fear in normal people? I read about it on another forum - someone said that thanks to it horror movies don't seem that scary to us.

^That can't be true for me at least, because horror movies tend to scare the s**t out of me. I started crying and everything while watching Chainsaw Massacre. My friend likes horror movies a lot, so she just had to make me watch it with her. I would like to read about that, though.

But yeah, I can't stand gore, and I think it affects me worse now than when I was a kid.

I laugh. I always find absurd humor in horror movies, and I ruin the scariness for whoever's watching with me.

I love horror movies and survival horror video games. Horror movies don't scare me but some games do, and I get a rise out of it. I'm playing Clock Tower 3 right now and so far my lust for fear has not been satisfied.

Does that make me crazy?

I was scared watching horror movies in my preteens and I always wanted to lie on my mother's sofa with her so as not to be alone then in the armchair during watching :D

I read about this peculiarity os ASers only two times so far but I can't post the links because they're in Polish. The first time was when one girl arrived in forum asking if she could have AS, presenting a long list of her quirks and there was a statement among them that she liked macabre and scary movies and she was informed about that mentioned by me lack of sensitivity to stimuli causing fear. Another time was when a mother of a little girl with AS described her child fascinated by death and accidents and she also was told it's characteristic for AS.

I usually laugh at them... I haven't ever tried being afraide :?

btw, the alien movies are horror movies? Science fiction/action/monster movie I can see, but where are the parts that are supposed to be scary?

I like the older movies from the seventies. The music and sounds in them still creep me out. Especially 'Tubular Bells' the song from the 'Exorcist'. I still have yet to see the entire movie.
I like 'The Shining' for the great musical score and the unsettling color scheme. Nothing scares me more than an unearthly flourish of angry violins paired with a neat hallway and INSANE CARPET zig-zagging its way through it. I swear the real monster in that movie was the carpet.
I
dont like the new movies so much. There is more of a focus on actual physical torture of the characters, which is something i dont understand and dont really like watching. Too much brutality, too little left for imagination.

I don't really have any reaction to horror movies and scenes perceived to be 'scary'. I find them sort of boring even.

Horror movies don't scare me. The only one I find somewhat disturbing is the Saw movies.

I like horror. The Thing, They Live, the Dead series, and In the Mouth of Madness are some of my favorites (you can add Fallen and The Omen to that too).

Horror doesn't scare me, I just find the "absurd" situations really, really cool.

I love horror. I will watch any horror movie no matter what the type, even if people say it's bad. My favorite would have to be psychological horror stuff. I've only recently gotten into it so I haven't seen very many, and I'm terribly lazy/poor so I don't watch them often. I'm not a movie person in general but if anyone ever offers to go see a horro flick, I'm there.

I don't like gory stuff unless it's really, really good. Like Saw, I didn't think I'd like those movies but they are great. Unlike The Hills have Eyes, that's got to be one of the worst scary movies of all time.

Horror and scary movies normally make me laugh, either because they are stupid (amityville) or because they are ment to be scary but instead of freak out, I find it funny. When watching with other people, I am laughing while they are screaming. It's like my natural reaction, very strange. I rarely find the movies scary unless they feature a fear that I already have (being trapped for example).

I find them funny and enjoy them. I like to critique the stupidity while we watch them as does my hubby. LOL!

I enjoy them but I prefer psychological horror. I like movies that have that all encompassing brooding mood and sublime eeriness.

Slasher films are only good for the lols.
