Does anyone here have imaginary friends, or had one in the past? I always did when I was younger, and I still sort of have one now. I've never been terribly good at socialising and imaginary friends are just so much better! She's technically not imaginary, it's a girl who died 6 years ago and I like to talk to her as if she's my friend. She's a much better friend than any real life person, hahaha. Anyone else do that?

Yes I did until I was 12, her name was Corianne, she had Ginger hair and Emerald eyes :)
I mostly talked to her in my mind if that makes sense, like she could hear my thoughts because she came to school to keep me company

Oh thank god I thought I was just nuts, not autistic LOL!!

Mine's called Lisa and she really was a real person, once. When I was a kid, it was TV characters and as a teenager, pop stars (who came to school with me because it's much better than being on tour...um, yeah)

Yeah. The ghost of Mozart lived in my bedroom for a while when I was aged 9-10. I'm only realising now how weird I must have come across for a while.

Oooo...

I mentioned it briefly in another thread.

If I see a character in an anime I really like, I'll take the base of their personality and elaborate off it in the form of an imaginary friend. I've had "boyfriends/girlfriends" like this... I'll make up my own characters too, but since I don't actively do this, I come across characters in fiction more frequently.

Oh yeah, even to the present day. My current imaginary friend is a shape-shifting wildcat. Strangely enough, I have never had a human imaginary friend - they are always animals or mythical creatures. I can't even deal with made up people, I guess... Oh, and I also talk to him almost completely in my head.

Mine was a mouse named Mickial. *say it mick-kay-al*

When I was in fifth grade, the teacher asked if anyone has an imaginary friend. I of course raised my hand. She asked what and where it was, and I told her, a mouse, probably about a foot away from your right shoe. She moved her foot over and stamped the ground, then told me I needed to join the real world.

Very traumatic for me.

I tried to have an imaginary friend but it didn't work out I could never really believe someone was there.

I had an imaginary friend was I was younger. I only talked to him in my head so no one knew that I did. At first I could never really think of a name for him until I started reading Harry Potter. I then decided his name should be Seiris Black. When I was even younger and interested in Pokemon he was a Pokemon trainer. He usually revolved around whatever my interest was at the time. I guess it's a good thing I never told anyone.

Yes, the only ones i can remember though are animals; horses and dogs. I had a favourite horse, a black one, and a favourite dog, an alsation, and they used to go everywhere with me for several years. I would talk to them.

But i have a faint memory of someone else, a boy or a girl, who i used to invite to eat at table with me.

:study:

I am an only child so up until the age of about 12 i had a "friend" who would play with me, eat supper with me and generally just keep me company. She would come to school with me and sit with me all day and keep me company... when i would freak out "talking" to her would always calm me down. her name was Marianne. lol and i thought i was the only 12 with an imaginary friend... thank god for WP

No, but I do build entire fictional worlds (either similar to the real one or completely different) and stock them with characters, only one of which I usually have an actual interest in. It takes me a while to figure out what their names are and small, pertinent details.
I've never believed that they are my imaginary friends, but when I wanted to look like I fit in and actually had a friend, I would talk about them as if they were real just so it seemed to others that I knew someone who was my friend.

My 8 year old has a couple and they have been living with us for a little while now. He does know that they ARE imaginary, and that was all that really mattered, as long as he knows they are imaginary I have no problem with them.

Their names are Kickick and Bupbup and they are about 4 inches tall, ride skate boards everywhere (preferably on the power lines above where we are driving) and reside in our heating vents. They also have someone come and visit them named ... Tictick (pretty sure there) who, I believe, is their younger sibling, on occasion. They have been living with us for about 4 years now, and they moved with us from our old apartment, they like living in the heating vents much better than the boy's old closet.

Me? I wanted one, but was never able to make/find one. I made due (do?) with fish.

I had quite a few a a kid, but they where all animals, mainly cats and wolves. I would speak to them in my mind while I was in the house, but when I would go into the forest behind my home, I would talk to them as if they where real.

Everytime I did go into the woods, my 2 cats would walk with me and I would talk to them a lot, we would go there everyday when I got home from school. I told them my joys and problems.
