Now, it's listening to Aesop Rock.

(I could say it's music, but I only listen to one song from one artist over and over again.)

I wish I had a drivers' license so I could do that; look to just drive down the streets to see where they go, asking peple to go "the long way" when I'm on a relatively-well known place and looking at the pylons, the buildings, streets, etc.

Oh yeah; related to the stoplights, yeah I can se the differences in stoplights; helps me when in the Chicago Area ("Chicagoland" in local slang) the actual city of Chicago and the smaller suburbs' stoplights are different colors and shapes, etc (all suburbs have a similar style in most cases). That and how Illinois/Indiana stoplights are different (Really noticeable when it's Chicago, IL and Hammond, IN lights for example, less noticeable for suburban Chicago area and Indiana). I remember that from when I was younger, not 'obsessed' with it now but the information I still remember

I am obsessed with the show Bones, particularly the character Zack. I get into a lot of things, but I tend to favor tv shows and movies. This is one of the biggest obsessions I've had in a while, in terms of how much I think about it.

Some of my ongoing topics of interest (not necessarily obessed, but have been, and could be again):

base numbers
AS information
astronomy, especially as it pertains to the origin and eventual destruction of earth
entomology
Franz Kafka
Archie comics
various anime shows
varoious scifi shows
various other shows and movies

Can I just say how utterly fascinating this thread is?

Some of the ones I've had over the years have included...
- Asterix and Tintin comic books (among many other cartoon characters)
- dinosaurs and evolutionary theory
- the poet W. B. Yeats (and all things to do with that particular period of Irish history)
- astrology
- heraldry
- Watership Down
- The Beatles
- Hindu mythology
- afterlife beliefs in world cultures
- the Victorian underworld
- Sandman and anything Neil Gaiman
- languages (the more obscure the better) and words

I still have the language thing, but some of my others these days include:
- anything to do with Nirvana/Kurt Cobain
- J. S. Bach's 'cello suites, and specifically the Bourrée from Suite 3 in C Major - I collect versions by different cellists
- human anatomy
- my writing (urban fantasy crime fiction - I've had a lot of writing obsessions over the years too - this time I actually intend to finish writing a novel...more than one hopefully)
- music (both listening to it, and some of the odd music theory stuff...I recently had to learn sightreading when I started playing 'cello, and I've been 'collecting' instances of different intervals in popular tunes)
- collecting old dictionaries, school textbooks and primers
- the city of Seattle
- making lists - I'm a total listaholic!

My obsessions are: books, AS, handbags, photographing flowers and temples around Japan, white shirts, palm reading, astrology (but from a Jungian "collective unconscious" aspect, not the fortune telling one), personal finance, cute furry animals, astrophysics, and reading forums of all kinds on the internet.
