ive had an intense obsession with nirvana/ kurt cobain since dec 04, when i was in 8th grade, when i was 13. the obsession was insane( ask if youd like the full details), everyone in my grade knew, thats what i was known for. then, after i moved and switched schools when i was 15 and in 10th grade(that has nothing to do with the obsession, just some backround info), the obsession began to fade in around febuary of 07.

now, im 17, and in 11th grade.

all of a sudden, this week, it came back. its unexplainable, but it basicly consists of looking at every nirvana interview possible on youtube, searching for and saving any and all pictures of kurt, krist and dave( im extremly attracted to kurt and dave), and listening to the music non-stop (after not having listened for months).

i dont know how i feel about it.

i know it wont get as out of contol as it was in 8th and 9th grade.

i do kind of enjoy it, but i also feel a bit disturbed by it. the fact that it just came up out of no where.

theres no point at all to what im saying, its just current feelings id like to share, and hear others opinions about

Ahhh... yes.

I have been known to do this also.

Don't worry, at least about the obsession. You might want to mitigate how much you talk about it (which can be extremely difficult, from my experience), but unless it interferes with your academics, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

thats what makes me a bit more comfortable, i never talk about my personal obsessions anymore.

back in the day, 8th grade, thats when i couldnt shup up about it, thats why it got to be out of control, thats when it ruled my life.

Why did you say that your age is 17, but under your user name it says that you are nineteen? Just curious.

As a 39-year-old Nirvana-and-Kurt-Cobain obsessee, can I just say that I don't find that odd at all?

I've had mine since about February of '04. (And I wasn't into them back in the 90s, at all.)

I don't talk about it much either...well, only to people I know really well...but I don't let that bother me too much.

(PS. This is spooky. I just changed my siggy line...you'll recognize it, probably...)

Had mine since last year.
Do you have a problem with Novoselic, or something?

Had the same kind of obsession with Kate Bush for nearly two decades. And talk about annoying people with one's obsessive interests - Americans do not get Kate Bush at all.

Had a similar obsession with a dead 'celebrity' when i was around the same age, late-teens. it lasted around 5 years. At the time i just considered it normal for all teenagers to be into bands/music to some extent but i think i went a little deeper than most

Eh. . . I wouldn't worry about it too much. Nirvana had a way of inspiring obsession even in people not prone to obsession. . .

just hang on and wait for it to pass, or not. :)

I'm 43, and have an interest (obsession?) with Roger Bannister, who broke the four minute mile in 1954, ten years before I was born. I am not particularly interested in any of today's celebrities, most of whom are famous merely for being famous, rather than for any particular accomplishment.
