Mostly music to imagery. Some minor other senses work that way, but not nearly as clearly. I have very vivid mental images to music.

Mmmm I wonder if this is why my 2 year old is obsessed with the number 18. It used to be 8, she points them out everywhere.

I typed 18s in large letters on my computer and she finds this so amusing :wink:

I sometimes wonder why music and emotion is not counted as synesthesia, which most people have. I don't think I have synesthesia in the strictest sense, but music to me is always very coloured, textural and emotive. In art I am doing my folio on music, so each painting is a different song. Through that, I realised I listen to a lot of purple music. I found that really wierd.

Well, numbers have corresponding colors to me..But that's it.
For example,

1=white
2=navy blue
3=bright yellow
4=light blue
5=magenta
6=light green, almost a sea-green
7=orange
8=green
9=indigo
10=grey
11=maroon

I voted Yes,Other as I have it with numbers,letters,days of the week and countries.
I find the country connection curious because at first I thought I was just associating
flag colours but it doesn't work out that way.Russia doesn't have a green flag and Japan
certainly doesn't have a purple one !

I have a number I'm obsessed with, but not for any synesthetic reasons.

I have letter-color, number-color, music-imagery synesthesias.
I am nearly certain that a filmstrip I saw in the first grade caused the letter-color synesthesia. In the filmstrip the letters appeared one at a time against some sort of background. A was red, B was blue, C a sort of school-bus yellow, D green, etc. That's what they've been since then. Words will tend to carry the color of their first letter. Since W is light blue, almost all words starting with W are light blue. That in turn determined the colors of the months - May is dark blue to me because it starts with M, which is medium to dark blue.
The written names of colors (red, orange, yellow) trump the color of the first letter of the word because they're so primal. Of course a few happen to match up.
