If you happen to have heard Michael Savage's comment on autistic children, then you must have been pretty pissed. I am on the autism spectrum, and this sent me into such a fit that I emailed him a rant, but it bounced. I'm a 12-year old who has Asperger's and I demand an apology from this man, because it might just save his career, and if someone's really really really angry, his life.

[SCREW MICHAEL SAVAGE! I'M HARDCORE!]

Torn between ignoring this f-ckhead, and supporting those who want his head on a stake (figuratively!).

Ignoring him, we take away his power, as he feeds on attention.

But NOT fighting his idiotic views gives him the power to the minds that will listen to this bullsh-t.

Calling for his head is against the basic tenants of the frist amendment, and myriad other basic freedoms this country guarantees. Also, it gives his voice power in that there will be others who'll fight just as hard in opposition to our views-just because they can. Ignorance is power, unfortunately...

Yeah, me too. I'm somewhat suspicious of the three threads coming in at the same time...

I knew of Savage for a while, mainly that he was a right-wing talk show host (knew of him since 2005).

He wanted riots in fromt of the Democratic Convention 2008 lol, that' the last thing I heard before this

I think the right attitude for the autistic community to take on this issue is "don't feed the troll".

I agree. We should ignore this attention seeker.

if are both meaning the original poster,he isnt a troll/attention seeker.

am not sure about michael savage,as all the bad stuff said about him and the complaints is only going to get him more listeners.
he'd have to be a bit unstable himself to have said what he said anyway.

I feel that in the USA, Mike Savage certainly has the right to say what he wants to say. We also have the right to decide whether we want to listen to it or not. I do not think the Mike Savage should apologize for what he said but if people decided to not listen to him anymore thus ending his career, I would not be upset either.

he's entitled to his opinion, no matter how wrong it is (yes you can have a wrong opinion, it happens to a lot of other people ) so i don't demand an apology. if he said that stuff to my face then i might have a few things to say to him, but i don't demand an apology, it's not going to make him change.
