Hi there people=)

Im pretty sure Im somewhere on the autistic spectrum, I've had problems with rigid routines (mostly in my younger years), I've got trouble socializing with other people, etc. etc.

The deal is, I've got absolutely NO special interests. I've really got no obsessions whatsoever apart from being mildly interested in sex, politics and how to improve my social skillz.

Does anyone know if this is unusual? Is Obsessions/Obscure interests a key requirement of asperger syndrome?

you might not have any special intrests yet or maybe you dont realise it
it might be invisible sinds you got them your life long i dont think it matters much
you should focus on the most specific details like thinking in pictures or desocialising and stuff

i dont have any special interests either, i obsess over and over about sensory related things like everywhere we go im obsessed to find more things to rub and bite lol to stim off of hehehe. I can sit for hours and just stare at my hands as i flap them really fast or spin objects and just stare endlessly as they spin more and more, which is obsessing over stimming also. Other then that i dont have a certian obsession or special interest. So your not alone!

you can not be coaxed to have a "special interest"

special interests are a result of neuronal affiliation with processes.

they are inborn.

if am remember correctly,if are aspie-but dont have a special interest-it's likely are given the PDDNOS label over aspergers or classic autism/ad,that might differ depending where are diagnosed.

Or maybe you are not even under the spectrum at all. If you really want to find out, get a referral from your dr to a psych that can assess you.

Great insight... good point, have seen some other comments that alluded to the same process - although PDD-NOS seems to be highly regional in terms of frequency of diagnosis in my observations.

I flip through obsessions quite often, sometimes I have a handful of them at the same time. Usually I don't even notice.
