I've just sprouted a new obsession over the past four weeks.

And London, as well, but stronger than ever before.
Did I mention Red Routemasters?
Did I mention London? Did I? Did I?

Maybe I should stop acting "cute".

Just when I thought I was growing out of my AS.

I hope I'm not driving everybody nuts, like LGB did, about a year ago. I'm sory for using him as an example, but I need to know if I'm driving people crazy, with my two obsessions.

Hi WP community, I'm raedizzle2006..just made my 1st post on the "getting to know each other" thread. Anyway, I'd like to post here about some of my so-called "obsessions", if I may LOL. Get ready haha.

-I've been very "obsessed" with almost anything involving the broadcast media. I have been continually trying to keep up with radio and TV related stuff since probably 1981-82. (When I was in 4th grade, methinks; I'm nearing 35 now) I can tell you almost every doggoned radio and TV station within a good couple hundred miles' radius of where I am in central North Carolina! (And when I travel far away, I try to follow some of their stations too) I can even tell you, for most of them, what power (watts) they broadcast with; their call letters (including changes in such); frequencies; program formats (again, noting changes); where many said stations can be picked up (love finding out how far most signals go); you get the picture. I would like to operate my own "pirate" station, but of course I'm not too much into the "mechanical" aspects, plus it's kinda expensive to maintain a transmitter plus it's currently illegal unless I apply for (and are granted LOL) a special LPFM license (low-power FM). Am I boring you yet? And yes I find myself listening to radio/watching TV a lot...but I'm very selective in my programming choices haha.

-I'm also obsessed with travel. I have, also since earlyish '80's, been a very big guy for wanting to travel to different places and explore my way around...not trying to get in trouble LOL. I have been very interested in reading maps since about 2nd grade, and I guess that lent itself toward wanting to go places..but for such awhile I was very dependent on others to take me around, provided they even felt like it. I'm glad I now have my drivers' license, so I can travel almost unrestricted as long as my beat-up "sh!tcan" doesn't fall apart LOL! I used to think I loved the mountains, but a friend IRL (who also has AS) introduced me to the beach..and I took to it like that! (Don't like very crowded beaches, though) I still could use a little "rugged terrain" once awhile, but if I had to choose I'd pick the flatter land closer to the big "drink"... 8)

-I'm now going to tell you the origin of my username (raedizzle2006), which will explain my other obsession! I am a HUGE fan of Disney Channel's "That's so Raven", even though it's supposed to be for kids LOL. I am NOT ashamed (nor should I be made to feel that way) to admit to ANYONE, young or old, that I love this show! I am absolutely in LOVE with the show's star, Raven (aka raven-symone); I'd love to MEET her!! (Too bad I probably never will :( :( ) I know RS (her initials) made her acting career start on "The Cosby Show", when she was not quite 4! Strangely enough, I never really became fond of that show; I don't hate or so much dislike it but just simply couldn't get into it. Anyway, I heard of RS having a new show (That's so Raven, or TSR) on Disney, starting about 3 years ago. I was of course curious, and therefore I tuned in. I have not regretted it since!! ! 8) 8) 8) Of course, there has been the rare "lackluster" episode, but fortunately that's very few and far between in occurrence. I consider TSR as one of my all-time fave shows, along with "Survivor", "The Amazing Race", and "The Flintstones." Most of what comes on TV these days is very devoid, many times, of any true substance and relevance to my "weird" life. (Friends, anyone? No offense to any fans on here) But yeah, I decided to call myself raedizzle to further express my strong feelings for her. I'd love her for a GF! She just turned 20 (12/10/05); at least she's not jailbait! Plus I'm white and she's black, but SO WHAT!!?? Personally, I've seen more attractive black women than whites; not that I'm not trying to find beauty in everyone! 8)

Well, I could list at least a couple more obsessions but I'll just stop for now. Besides, I'm almost ready to turn ye olde 'pewter off and go to bed (yeah, I'm a nite-owl; just past 3am here). I will likely come back after settling in from work tonight (I work mainly 2nd shift), and hope I can continue to find myself "obsessed" with WP! 8) I've lurked lots for several months but am just now coming "out-of-hiding", LOL! later raedizzle

I hope to have a fun and interesting time posting at WP...thanks again for the welcome! 8) 8)

I see you're in Charlottesville, VA.? My oh my, time to speak of another "obsession" LOL; I have traveled to Virginia so many times! (I live just below you in NC) I have in fact traveled to C-Ville (CHV) plenty of times; my latest was back before Thanksgiving. It is a very picturesque town, with UVA and a whole lot of places to eat (food, another obsession of mine LOL). What is your fave place (s) to eat there? This may sound kinda "silly", but I tend to love going to the Giant supermarket on 29 N. and loading up on their salad bar! They also have a good gourmet deli in the back, and also I love going to Foods of All Nations near the big campus. (Kinda pricey, but their sandwiches are good)

Again, thanks for the welcome. I will try to make the best of my stay here; actually been lurking since probably last summer but am now working up the "courage" to post LOL. Hoping I will meet a lot of interesting peeps here....
