Wetsuits are made from neoprene foam... I far prefer solid neoprene (butadiene rubber).

It's like a transparent version of the rubber used in tyre inner tubes... nice and clean.

If I was into rubberwear...I think that's what I'd go for :D

Your enthusiasm for neoprene has made me a convert. I now support neoprene wholeheartedly.

Appearantly you can get it in sheets 51" wide.

I, too, have been converted into a neoprene enthusiast. It is just so squishy and wonderful! I just love to hold a chunk in my hand and squish it repeatedLY. And it never loses its shape! :D

I work in the medical field, and a very few places use neoprene gloves. I love them--- they have a little more "give" than standard vinyl gloves, they smell nice and they come in blue or purple. They also mean I don't have to deal with latex gloves. Most are also unpowdered, which is nice since the feeling of the powder on my hands/nails drives me crazy.

my hospital has vinyl gloves, i am so glad my file says AUTISM: MAY SUDDENY HUG TOUCH OR KISS. since i tend to rub their hands when they come near me hhhaha... if they had neoprene ones i would go nuts hehe. i cant stand latex gloves, they smell funny and the powder makes my hands dry out like hell... i have a box of vinyls since we have to use them when we are zapping ulcers on my G-Tube site with silver nitrate pens. i should just wear a pair all the time.

CleverKitten, imagine getting a whole shirt made of neoprene to wear, would you like that?

http://www.foamorder.com/neoprene.html

(This may not be the best price, it's just the first site that came up when I put 'neoprene fabric' into Google. I know, it's not fabric, that's just what I figured people would say if they were trying to sell it to people who sew.)

Clearly you need three sheets, one to wrap yourself in and two to use as bedsheets. I think you'd have to sew strips of something else on either side so they'd tuck in properly on a standard twin bed, but they'd cover the top by themselves.

I dunno. It never says 'smoothskin' on that site, but it does say 'smooth raw' and 'textured raw' and comes in all these different thicknesses, with or without nylon stuck to its surface. Is smoothskin some special process? Your shirt looks shiny, but all the neoprene I've got around is matte black under the nylon facing.

I wonder what one of those rolls that's nearly seventeen metres long weighs.

Hmmm, maybe. It it isn't too tight. I don't like tight clothes.
