Even in my early childhood, when only I got old enough to understand a motion of negative consequences of actions (maybe five years old), I tended to be very careful, not doing things that could expose me to any danger. Playing with matches or letting strangers in were never things I had to be warned not to do and I got angry every time when mother informed me I should or shouldn't do this or that - after all, I knew this exquisitely well without her. I always took precautions so as not to risk injuries or other unpleasant consequences.

i tended to be impulsive.
i didnt see or weigh up risks, i made mistakes and THEN learned.

i had and still have a very linear approach to most things.

i had to do it before i learned it.
weighing up risk got in the way of doing anything.

i just did it.

slightly reckless yes.

but you learn very fast this way.

I'm actually quite impulsive, except that I'm mildly aquaphobic. Two weeks ago I pushed my dad's car up to 180 km/h in a heavily trafficed 90 km/h zone in the afternoon, just to see how fast it would go. It wasn't until after I slowed down I actually realized that even a small mistake at this speed would have killed me. I do speed a lot though--even though it's a stupid thing to do...

Yea, I was the same. Except, after multiple broken bones, cuts, scrapes and whatnot, I still never learned not to climb trees! I fell nearly 40 feet out of a tree one time and only cracked my collarbone. I suppose if it had been disasterous, I would have learned. My dad eventually had to saw all the lower branches off that tree so we kids would stay the frak out of it.

But trees were my vice. Anything else, I learned pretty quick from.

I am very careful and rarely impulsive. I consider every option, question every reason...

When I was a child I had no fear. My Dad was horrified when I rode my tricycle off the porch when I was four. We went to a mountain once, and my parents kept my hand in a vice grip because they were worried I'd run off a cliff or something.

Now I'm very anxious, and I constantly am trying to keep myself out of trouble.

I'm impulsive as well, I admit, but also careful as I have said.

I said 'rarely impulsive'...very rarely. I most always feel the need to put lots (too much) thought into things before doing them. This is not true of my mouth though.

And I am impulsive often - but on the other hand, I always analyze if it's a good idea to follow this what has just come to my mind, if it could have a negative effect so as a result I am careful because I don't like risking.

I tend to be impulsive & only think about consequences afterwards. I've gotten somewhat better as I've gotten older, but I can still be a bull in a china shop!
