Now that I think about it I was interested in Jack the Ripper, strange that so many of us have been, I saw an interesting documentty lately which was a realy detailed look at identifying who he was. Aparently contrary to popular belief they think that he was not actualy a doctor, they think that he was fairly low in inteligence and he was propbably one of the people they spoke to when they whent door to door. They think that he was able to look very average and mixed with not being what they were looking for he was easily pushed aside, and he may have had a dominate women in his life wrecking there thought that he was controling of women. Aparently he has mostly become myth and by todays standards he was a novice, but got away with it as they had no experience or idea of how to handle those cases.
My main interst was on mysteries such as this, spontaneous combustion and strange beast attacks that were recorded and resembled a werewolf. It had a specific name "the beast of *blank*", my biggest interest were on the poltergiest cases, especialy the more violent ones.
Have you read Patricia Cornwell's recent book on the Whitechapel murders? She puts forth a very believable hypothesis that the killer was actually a sociopathic stage actor. She uses some of the 'Dear Boss' letters in a handwriting comparison that seemed pretty convincing to me.
Love ghost hunts. I've been on a few myself and I regularly watch 'Ghosthunters' on the Sci Fi channel and 'Most Haunted' on either BBC America or Travel channel. It's getting closer to Halloween, so there will be more of them on. 'Most Haunted' is supposed to be airing a special ghost hunt episode this Oct 10th (I think) in the Gettysburg battle site.
