One all nighter/all day..er I can think of.....I was at the Tribal Gathering Warehouse Party in Manchester back in August 2003,from 10am [warehouse opening was around 2pm]on the 23rd till 6am the next day/24th.
My own energy kept me going, and the fine music did to.

PMSL! marvellous - the "sodding owl" wins you prizes, my old chum.

i used to write between those times, but do so early in the morning, now, before the day has a chance to impinge upon my consciousness, lol.

used to do all nighters frequently, when at college, but then, it's practically obligatory. ;)

nowadays, i only do them when i'm particularly stressed or wracked with insomnia. (or have a new partner... 8O which is so infrequent/unusual that it doesn't count at all. )

I would pull an all nighter everyday if I didn't force myself to go to bed.

The first day of school back in september was an all nighter for me - couldn't sleep at all.

B) I play Magic The gathering, so occasionally that also

And how do I stay awake? Its called entertainment. I managed ~36 hours on sat (7am Friday till around 9pm Saturday)

Oh yeah, particularly when I was at university for a variety of reasons. If I was working on a project, I'd be up doing it all night as my brain seems to function best then, dunno why. To keep me alert, I'd take caffeine pills or drink lots of coca cola (my fave drink).

If I was throwing an all night party in the flat (which I did a lot in my final year), I would get a nap during the day as I knew that I'd consume emmense quantities of alcohol and act energetically (read whatever you like into that). Everyone used to like my parties cos I'd always make sure that the music was varied, that there was plenty of booze and food. Ive not had an all nighter now since July, how depressing.

Another reason for doing all nighters when I was at uni was to play on my xbox, I'd actually be too busy playing it to notice what time it was.

If I had an exam in the morning, I'd sleep in the afternoon the day before the exam, get up at about 8:30-9pm and revise for it with breaks in between during the night (its quite, everyone is sleeping so there's no distractions) and then go to the exam with the info very fresh in my mind. This method worked for me.

I've never used coffee and the like to keep me up at night; I just kept going as long I could. I usually then just go to bed early the day after.

I had to pull many all-nighters while taking an interior drafting class because the projects were so tedious and time consuming. The instructor would take off points for any tiny deviation including leaving off the " in written measurements (8'-5" for example) or if a wall was off by the size of this dash - . Plus it had to be blue-printed which showed up the slightest smudge meaning more would be taken off the final grade.

There would be several people with me spending the night in the drafting room eating fast food and listening to music to stay awake, just one big slumber party. My final grade was a "C" though I was still proud since that was the hardest C I've ever worked for in university.

all nighters, i used to stop up all night when i was at college, but that soon hit me and gave me the sleep requirement of sleep all day, so i stopped after being kicked out of college

the only other all-nighters i have ever done is when i have returned from holidays abroad (i can't sleep on planes) except my last holiday where i stayed awake on the plane back to the uk but fell asleep on the train about an hour into leaving the airport station

I know some incredibly fatigued, over-stimulated, worn-out party people that look like hell at age 26. They put the fear of god into me about overdoing it.

Once I pulled a three day party, but it was the first and last, and now I truly respect the power of bed.

For academic purposes? They get harder as you get older.I've used every method listed except energy drink.
They're usually the resort of poor planning procrastination on my part-term papers.

Drining all night is scarey and dangerous.

Now hanging out at a drum cirle or campire all night is great-and i don't have to have drugs for that.

being a night owl i'll often do an all-nighter even on mundane things. for instance tidying up - if i'm tidying up late in the evening and get into it i'll carry on all night and get it done. i learned to never ever think 'oh i'll just go to bed and carry on in the morning' because i NEVER feel like doing anything in the morning!

i don't think i've ever successfully pulled an all-morninger
